I just blew the KA in my '96 SE tonight. Remember my cam swap incident with the bent valves? Well, something screwed up enough tonight on the interstate to make the car start dumping oil and knocking like crazy. Took it just a few miles up the road and kabam. It's gone.

One of my RX-7s should be sold probably Sunday. If this guy doesn't take it, I have a slew of other folks that are interested. I should have, up front, about $3500 to work with. This WAS going to be used to pay off a loan, but in the interest of a running car, I shall apply it to my S14.

Basically, I do not have a whole lot of extra time to afford for this car to be down. Nor do I have another resource to acquire extra cash.

My car is a nice SE with 130k miles, clean interior, no wrecks, etc. Solid car, perfect for a swap. $3500 isn't really going to do it for me though, is it?

At this point, I'm thinking just buy a used KA in good running condition and take a day or two and swap that in. It'd at least get me back on the road in a timely manner, and I probably could throw some of that sale money at my 36% interest rate loan. ;)

Anyway, I'm just wanting input. If you had an S14 with a toasted motor and about $3500 to work with, what would you do?

Oh my God. Pay as much towards that loan as possible.

Agreed. I would try to find a KA in fairly short order for less than 500 bucks. The rest of the cash can go to that loan.

Thanks for the input guys. And yes, Citifinancial sucks. ;)

I did source a KA for about $300 so I'll be picking that up and dropping it in hopefully this week or next.

Inconveinence, but I suppose not the end of the world.

God dang! That is a really high %... So high it might even be Illegal lol. I say pay it off and put another KA in there. I'm pretty sure if you buy a car in Cali anything over 20% is illegal.

Don't you have another running RX7 that you could drive? If you do, I'd personally put *all* the money towards that loan and fix the S14 later.

Mostly wankers, LOL. When I got my 240sx, all my buddies started getting c0cky. The cars are a BMW 525, two Civics, a Prelude, Miata, second-gen N/A RX-7, new-gen Eclipse RS, and a Toyota Camry. He he he... nothing particularly interesting.

Also, I'm not posting my losses. :) That list is just as long, but with better cars on it.

To answer your question, I/H/E and Jim Wolf ECU w/ a Centerforce clutch. More to come, thanks to the fact that I just paid off the last of my debt ($4000) and got more hours at work.

So, in a desperate attempt to maintain post relevance, after having paid off my debt, I'll hopefully be able to boast a better setup in the future!
