blew my engine ....

i blew my engine yesterday .. was funny .. in a way .. then I thought i was getting d**ked for 600 dollars on a used one .. well it was the only one i can find in a hurry .. then as we started to prep it and i cleaned it up ... i started to see that this engine was recently rebuild ... like the whole thing .. so im quessing some lil punk got a 240 had mommy and daddy rebuild the engine and totaled it .. heh ill give update on it 2morrow as i had to halt work tonite due to the fact that i need a pilot bushing ..

i just logged on to tell u all about it .. well i got the pilot bushing in finished installing the engine and it wouldnt start ... then realized my drunk *** cousin crossed the fuel lines .. fixed that and it started up .. it ran kinda unstable .. we kept playin with the timing but no luck ... retired for the night then did a quick compression test .. didnt do it like we were supposed too .. but the test told me all i needed to know ... had a valve seat stuck or gone cuz i had 0 compression in the number 1 cylinder ... so i call the guy up pissed and he says drive it around to see if it unsticks .. if not take it back and he'll get me a another one or my money back ... well .. i drove it around like 15 miles ... and it just started getting worse ... then it started smoking then it got real worse lol and i headed home .. got about a 1/4 mile to my house when BOOOOOOMMMM!! with a big flash .. HAHHAHAH i got the s***iest luck i swear i do ... so im pulling it back out tomorrow and taking it back ... dunno i might just give up on the car for a while and wait for my sr swap .. or do a ka24de swap .. heh kinda fun blowing engines ... just expensive and time consuming .. but then again i got nothing to do so wish me luck

I think the problem is that you live in New Mexico!!! I was just down in Albuquerque last weekend and jesus was it hot! I'm sure all of your engine troubles would disappear if you moved to a less hospitable climate!

lol i wish i could move ...

cant afford it yet ... im gonna just say screw it and i have a freind looking for a ca18det engine set for me .. cheapest swap i can afford at the time if i like which i probably will ill just use the rest of the cash owed to me that i was gonna use towards a sr to build up the ca ... ill find out by tonite how much this shop can get me one for ...

I’m a little confused...so you had a bad engine (what was wrong with it?) and then you got a replacement for 600 bucks Which was rebuild, and that blew...

yeh .. the engine i got was for 600 ... it looked ok .. but i was optimistic on it.. tried to get the guy lower .. no deal ... so i took it knowing there is a 30 day warranty .. i installed it cranked it over no compression on number 1 cylinder .. shop says bad valve seat or valve .. open up the vavle cover crank it over vavle is moving with no play .. so its the valve seal ... i call the guy he says engines been sitting for awhile .. to drive it like that and see if the valve works after a bit .. lol so i say screw it ima drive it .. i do and BOOOOOOM!! was quiet funny to me .. just sucks i gotta remove it again and travel 100+ miles to get my refund .. i mean ive pouted and hit the wall a few times but u live and u learn huh .. i enjoy working on the car ... thing that sucks is that guy said it had passed a compression test .. so now i know he is shady and i wont deal with him again .. so basically if he is upset cuz i blew it .. its his fault for lying to me ..

besides he doesnt have to know it went BOOM! hah ..

ohh .. and on my original engine i spun a rod bearing and snaped the cam .. lol and the head is still good .. i think but the exhuast manifold bolts are all stripped to s***... i just want a turbo engine now .. ill fix my truck to use on a daily basis if i have to wait to get my ca or sr

UPDATE: Just ordered a CA ... so now i wait for it ... hopefully that goes well .. this darn car

Thanks ... hope i get my car up within the next 30 days or less .. ill get pics of it soon .. and yeah i opened up the other motor and the cam gear snapped off ... heh when it it was giving its last breath of life i dropped it into 3rd and floored it heh .. was going like maybe 35 mph i just had like 1500 feet to get to my entrance to my house didnt wanna push it far hah .... second engine i almost made it same distance ... OHH BTW when i removed second engine i melted a sparkplug and part of the thread on same cylinder ... was cool when that one blew cuz i had the hood off and it threw a wicked bright flame outta the plug.. but of course when i get the ca im going to maintain it good and stuph .. i dont want to be looking for another engine soon and my wallet was empty as it was so now im flat broke ..

the CA is a great engine, thats what im planning to get cause im starting to have engine problems too, its a cheap way to go turbo.

used ebay ... heh .. my freind took to long to find me one and he woulda overcharged ... i got mine for 1075$ and 320$ shipping from JustJapsImports in florida so 1405$... just aslong as i get a clean engine.. the pics look clean im happy ... supposedly its got 60k miles on it .. i checked out there website and there feedback and it looks like i can trust them .. and theyve been replying to my emails promptly ... i get a lil optimistic on ebay stuff .. but so far ive only been stiffed once long ago .. i tried a couple of other companies but know one had one in stock and some didnt reply and i want my car back up and running
