Hey,

More problems in Q land, was driving last night when i smelled something burning, then my antilock and parking brake warning lights came on. Made it home and checked it out this morning and found my belt shredded and all over my engine compartment, all wrapped around the fan, its all bad. I'm going to go get a new belt, just wondering if its gonna be a hard job to get it back on the car?

Anyone else have the pleasure of doing this allready? If so can u give me some advice or warnings what to watch out for, i've replaced these before on my firebird, but theres a bit more room to work with in there.

Thanks,Ronnie

Something could have been locking up, idler bearing or alt bearing or something. Investigate that first before putting a new belt on.

The tensioners have 14mm nuts locking them down in the center. Loosent the nut first, then turn the 12mm tensioner screw counterclockwise to loosen, clockwise to tighten the belt. I think the alt belt is the frontmost, easiset to replace. Don't forget to tighten the bearing up when the belt is tensioned up.

Best is to order all three belts from Joe and do them all at once so you don't have to repeat labor.

Check the associated pulleys also.
