So my subs havent worked for a long time, no big deal, I don't need them, stereo works just fine. Last night, I hooked up a friends amp, just to see if my amp was my problem, and well it didnt work, and I dont think its getting power, cause the light doesnt come on. No biggie, don't need subs, stereo still worked.

This morning, I try to get it to work. I go and check my ground on my amp, and its kinda lose, so i tighten it down, and turn on the stereo. The stereo works, but the amp doesnt come on. So I pull out the stereo and realise my rcas werent plugged in. So I plug them in, put stereo back in. And now it doesnt turn on.

What'd I do. I just want muh stereo back. I checked my fuses in the kick box and they are all fine. The fuse on the stereo is fine. I briefly looked over my connections, and they are all good i think. And the theft light that is underneath the faceplate flashes, so I guess that means it's getting power?

This deck is pretty much brand new, maybe a month or 2 old. Any ideas, I'm tired of audio problems.

EDIT: I've tried not running rcas, and running, Ive checked my acc, ground, and power wires, all 3 are good, I've done all I can think of.

Hrmm that is weird. Did you unplug the rca's and try hooking it back up or are they still plugged in?

edit: and did you make sure the radio was grounded well?

I say re-run the radio's ground wire to the chassis and see if that helps.

I did, and it still doesn't work, if possibly, one of the wires for one of the speakers came disconnected or something, would that cause my stereo to not work?

No all you need is the power, ground, and acc wire. (Red, black, yellow) After that the deck should turn on and work right, just no noise will come out whichever speakers aren't hooked up.

Maybe your faceplate needs a new battery now. Let me know if changing it did anything.

something somewhat similar happened to my friend and he had to reset the cd player.

if i remember right he just unplugged the harness from the cd player, let it sit for like 5 mins or so and pluged the harness back in, started vehicle and it worked like new.

not saying it will help but its worth a try i suppose.

i checked those three wires, and they are all wired, sooo.. im clueless. if those are the 3 required wires to work, then my stereo should work.

Are there any fuses under the hood I should check?

this might sound really dumb but on one of my decks when i unplugged it and plugged it back in there was no power when i turned the car on and so i hit the power button on the deck and it worked. just a thought...

Also should be a fuse on the back of the deck.

lol ive checked simplistic things like that.

is is possible that plugging in the rcas into the headunit could of damaged something? cause that is when it stopped working.

did you do what i posted earlier?

if not read and try it, sometimes little things like putting your rca's back in gives the cd player new signal and it needs to reset.

make sure you leave it unplugged for at least 5 minuites.
