Today has been such a waste of a day.

I was gonna do an oil change today, and I've been waiting for it to warm up so I can change out the front main oil seal as well.

For some reason, the power steering pump belt was a pain to get off, so I took a break from it to start on my front struts. I got my new Tein S-Tech's in the mail today, and I was gonna swap the springs after I finished the front seal. Was doing the last bolt on the first strut tower and it stripped. First 'Bleg'.

I went back to the PS pump and finally worked the belt off and the alternator belt was easy to get off. Popped the crank pully nut out and then I couldn't get pully to come off. And I don't have a puller, so I had to scrap doing the main seal for now. Second 'Bleg'.

Today just basically became a lesson in futility and I spent 7 hours doing a stupid oil change.

isnt it funny how you can never stay focused? you start one thing, go to something else, go to something else, and forgot where you even started. severe a.d.d.

the bolt is off! w00t! it's good to know mechanics who have nifty little sockets that can get stripped bolts off. Now I can finish my suspension work!

They were snap-on sockets. I was having a difficult time getting the splines to seat on the bolt because I was being gentle with the $22 socket (we had to pound it to get it to seat). Jay took a freaking ball pean and started whacking it with all he had to get it on. I felt like such a dork afterwards.

btw, springs are on! see seperate thread for more details :)
