After changing the front cals and in order to bleed I know that you do Passenger rear, driver rear, passenger front, dirver front cals in that order... did I get that worng?

Also, I heard that you have to bleed the ABS unit as well... where is the unit located?

Thank you for your help guys.

Look at your brake master cylinder and follow the hardlines along the back of the firewall. Usually located between the firewall and passenger strut. It will have the hardlines going into it.

Dont all abs cars have ABS units that you have to bleed???

Sorry chris but what do you mean "after you bleed it bleed the wheels again" Do you mean after bleeding the wheels then bleed the ABS then bleed the wheels again?

Thanx

I'm at work and don't have my FSM here but I remember the ABS bleed order went something like this:

Rear passenger caliperRear driver caliperFront passenger caliperFront driver caliperRight(passenger) side ABS module bleederLeft (driver) side ABS module bleeder

I need to do this myself soon. I'll check the FSM when I get home and correct if necessary.

yes, just making sure you have abs. i cant remember from the last time we spoke.

i am hyper anal about brakes. by all means the fsm procedure should be ok, but i like to bleed them extra good.

Sorry Chris... I should have mentioned that I have ABS (doh!)

So I got the picture of the ABS unit from the FSM... Now.. my question is that "ACTUATOR" thing is what I would have to bleed after bleeding all four corners? How do I exactly bleed that unit? The FSM says nothing about bleeding the ABS unit.... so im confused

Wait, my bad...you have an S14...the ABS module is different on those, you don't have bleeders on the module for S14s. (S13 only)

Sorry for the mix-up, didn't have sigs enabled at work.

BTW - I bled my ABS system this weekend and the correct order (S13) is as follows:

Driver rear caliperPassenger rear caliperDriver front caliperPassenger rear caliperABS front bleederABS rear bleeder

Took me about 1.5 hours (I did it alone w/smoke and beer breaks) and I used .75L of Castrol LMA to bleed the whole system through.

Next up: bleed clutch system.
