I used all the best parts available to me yet experienced dismal results.

Had I engineered this unit from MC cap to tank I would have easily seen the problem part. The MC cap will not even hold 5# p.s.i.. let alone 15-20#s.

Nice & shiny 1 gal. SS tank, hi-pressure breathing hose(hey, I have a few feet),all brass fitings & even an inline filter with a 0-40# pressure gauge. All is worthless as a pressure bleeder.

I sure could use some bona-fide CONSTRUCTIVE criticism here. It's not that I can't handle the other kind, I just find the helpful kind more helpful.

What do the ''PROS'' use to seal @ the MC?

Not "constructive" this will be but what's wrong with someone taking a break sittin' in ya car and saying "just pump the brakes for me while you're restin' "?

I have had luck, working alone, with just filling the MC, opening the bleeders at the calipers and let gravity do it's thing. Keep the MC filled. Worked for me on a 240 SX after R & R ing the MC. Dunno about this Q45 it has the ABS unit and the 240 didn't. But the brake lines are open down to the calipers so...

Why don't you try it and see what happens. I would but I don't need to bleed brakes right now

Yeah Rap, been thinking & reading about that pesky gravity. We used that method on the semis in my fathers fleet many a year ago. I thought that the larger brk. lines & greater elev. distance between MC & whl. cyl.(now of course cals.) was what made that work. Same as but different. If it worked for you, well then.

The problem sometimes encountered with a pedal pusher is if the pedal is depressed beyond the ''norm'' you may experience MC probs in near future due to intrducing MC piston to coroded area.

I am just gathering all the parts from rotors to cal pistones this week.

I really want this pressure bleeder to work.

Thanks for the input.

I have not had much luck using them either. Atleast not since the late 70's.

Nothing like a friend helping you out! At the shop here I borrow someone's foot. When I get an air lock sometimes gravity is the best way.

Any chance you could re-engineer the cap and or it's gasket?? I use a vacuum tank to suck the oil out of my boat, and the cap used to leak constantly. I pulled out the crummy cork gasket and used it as a template to cut a new (rubber) one. Now all you need is a few strokes on the pump and it will suck the crankcase dry. Not sure if this is germane to your setup though.

I just changed out the fluid on my Q using a 3 dollar advance auto self-bleeder special. It's cheesy and cheap. The reservoir is a joke but I did all 4 calipers in less than an hour and that included using the factory jack on all four corners.

The fluid coming out was nasty. I hope that my calipers don't fail prematurely as a result of nine year old juice.

Good luck.

Seems to me that if you are afraid of the MC being corroded then you should verify that now before going any further ? A NAPA new MC shouldn't be that expensive. I went to NAPA for a new MC, not rebuilt, for my Acura and it wasn't that much of a budget buster. There were, also, rebuilt MC's available. After thinking about R & R ing the MC on my ACURA ,I, in fact, did use the gravity method to bleed the entire system there also. I just made sure that I kept the MC filled with brake fluid. Worked fine up to now.

The gravity method should work because the MC is the highest point in the system ? I'm thinking here so...

In any event good luck and let us kno.

Actually the lines leaving the MC run a couple of inches ABOVE the MC along the fire wall. I suppose the siphon effect will take care of that.
