whos ever of this kit, is it a good choice for going to a solid lifter setup?

it seems like a good choice to me for the fact that its adjustable and no shims required

I have never seen it. I heard the Tomei solid lifter kit is great but i never heard of this one. No need for lash adjusters huh that interesting.

Pay for a good quality one that uses shims, the BLE one comes out of adjustment way too easily.

seishuku,

is that all you have to say about this, that they come out of adjustment easily... by what facts, did you have them? have you experianced this at 1st hand?! more info would be required to make such statements other than prolly what you've heard or something like that...

if anyone else has something to say, like 1st hand expeiance and so on, please by all means please let me know as i am very interested in this kit!

No first hand experience, however I have heard from others that they didn't like it either.

The design is that they use a threaded pivot with a lock nut, and what happens is the vibrations from normal valve train operation will loosen and everything comes out of adjustment. It's a flawed design, and loctite on the threads won't work (oil bath).

It does work, and is easier to adjust than a shim type solid setup, but the shim types can't come out of adjustment (other than normal wear), it's just a good idea.

The valve train will make a hell of a lot of noise when it starts getting loose, believe me, you'll know.
They aren't real hard to install and shim, the Tomie lifters have pretty decent instructions.

do you have 1st hand knowlege on the tomie lifters??? i have been considering going tomie with hks step 3 but was a bit skeptical due to the shimming, and even tho my bro installed the bc cams and dual valve springs/retainers that i have now in it... not sure if he'd be able to make the right meesurements. anyways thanks for the info!

I really don't think it would be too much of a problem. JWT claims that you have to use THEIR springs in order to use their C series cams yet a friend of mine here is running C1 cams with Brian Crower Springs. Most aftermarket companies' designs are pretty similar. As long as you get solid cams, you should be fine. If you notice in that article, he was originally going to use BC cams with his Tomei Lifters.

Yeah, a cam is a cam, as long as it's designed for the right type of lifters.
