check on the skylinesdownunder forums for more info about that. It's not the easiest engine to build.

Onepuff is right they never made a turboed version from factory(I think), and the block is taller you have to cut your hood.

But, still! OOh a 3.0L RB, it makes me tingly.

Does anybody know how to read? Sheesh..

The 30DET was never released as a production motor by Nissan or Holden (GM), but is a semi-common engine swap in Australia. RB30 block + 25DE head or 26DET head. If you use the 26 head + ITB's / intake you would need not worry about the blocks deck height / hood interference. (I had to cut my hood skeleton due to the stock 25 cross-tube intake manifold. Converting to GT-R intake / ITB's shortly.)

It is not a swap for the weak of heart, nor the shallow of wallet. Easily expect to invest USD$ 12-15,000.00 for this swap, and that is doing everything yourself (except machining work).

Easier solution: Just buy an imported R32 (or maybe even an R33) GT-R for 12 grand instead and be done with it. Period.

I just want 200 whp out of my KA, NA or t-25 (or any other light turbo). There is a project I'd like to do involving rotary valves and a rb30 short block would make a nice start.

But thats a few years away, right now I want blatz but I cant seem to save any money right now with gas so high, I only get 23.5 (after I got an o2 sensor that worked), hell I own 2 240's now maybe I should just get the money out of savings It'll probably pay for its self in diagnostics, and hope fully in improved millage if any more sensors are bad.

Oh ya forgot, I went up to dads and got to stay for about 3 hours before I had to drive back down for surprise jury duty.(4 hours in less than 12 hours on 3 hours of sleep.. fun) I was really impressed, the car was a lot faster than Dorthy.86,000 miles and the car seems brand new.

No, sorry in my opinion the KA is still a tank, believe me I've put mine through hell. The RB is just a hell of a lot better engine, more potential and probably tougher. It's probably like this the KA=Sherman the RB=Abrams both tanks just ones a lot better. See?

If you are stuck on going with coilovers, go with Megan Racing.

I'm not a fan of coilovers though, at least not for serious driving / HPDE. It all depends on what your goals are. If you are just using it for a Daily Driver, I would avoid coilovers at all cost.

the buddy club racing specs. Amazing coilovers, and they are just DAMN good knock-offs of top-end tomei's. Just at about 1000.

Tein also does a low-end coilover, but you'll get more for the money with the buddy clubs.

Plus buddy clubs are stiffer in the rear +1 for real racing.

oh by the way

When people refer to the RB30, the version most common is just an over-bored RB26DETT. 2.6 liter to 3.0 liter, most people when referring to the rb30 are referring to a 3.0 liter RB26. Top Secret's owner has an RB30, that was originally an Rb26...make sense? That how it is in Japan anyways. I'm sure the Aussies have a way of bolting up a rb26 head to an rb30 block.

Are you sure this is what I'm talking about...

zerothread?id=272625

Your the first person that's said that. Everything I've read says that its a taller block with a longer stroke and the same bore. I could be wrong though.

Oh and if your wrong, don't feel bad I thought it was an over bored rb26 too.

Meh, I was half-right. It is a popular bore, (not stroke however). But they do bolt up an rb26 head to make the big #s!

Sounds like it has harmonic issues past 7500 rpm so I'd much rather keep the Top Secret built RB26 ($30,000) =O

Lie.Visit the RB sub-forum, mention RB 30 - _everyone_ will assume you are speaking about an RB30e from Holden \ R31. You want to use the 26 head as opposed to the 20. The 25 does not line up properly due to VCT (requires drain mod).

Have you ever even seen an RB30 (26 stroker) kit? One of my friends has one in his R33 GTR. He paid 1,500,000 yen for it, direct from OS-Giken. It is insane. I have his spare 2.6 block that was stroked to 2.8L (Tomei). Debating on building it up or selling it. :-\
