Hi I have a s13 blacktop and how can I know what year it is? Because the 89 driveshaft doesn't fit with the bt transmission (The gasquet is not the same!.) I think is because the bt have a s14 transmission...maybe it's a 97-98 bt?Also, is the s14 driveshaft will fit on the 240sx 89, if I change the lsd of an s14?Thanks for all the response.

The black part at the end of your transmission. You see how your driveshaft is hitting that black part at the end of the transmission. Not hard to find what I'm talking about. Only one place it could be. Between the driveshaft and the transmission. You even have it in your last picture. Take that thing off or cut it and the driveshaft will fit.

Sorry, but the thing you are talking about is what I have done! the 2 picture is that piece that does'nt fit to the last picture. The shaft is enter to the transmission but the gasket is not the same. Do you have a black top 97 in your 89 car?thanks again!

Blacktop with 93 driveshaft. Mine fit fine. By gasket, what are you referring to? Only gasket between the transmission and the shaft is an oil seal. I'm not exactly sure what you mean by "it doesn't fit".

yes, the oil seal... the oil is leaking because it's not the same as the original...

The rear oil seal is universal on all 1989-1998 RWD 5 speed nissan transmissions (because all the transmissions are the same model). What you want to do is remove the big, black dust collar that is on the tail end of the sr20 transmission. Remove that and the driveshaft slides in.

Let us know how it goes

You don't understand, the driveshaft already slide in but it's still leaking...

oh ok, now I get what your saying. You can either try pulling the oilseal out of the KA transmission and using that or ordering a new one from a SR store or a nissan dealer.

Ok, now look at this, you see, they are different! Is somebody have a picture of this from a s-14? At the left, it's come from the tx of sr20BT and the other is from a 240sx 89...

**I swapped my 96' blacktop into a 89' chassis as well and the driveshaft fit fine.I'm not understanding what your problem is so help me out...

Are you complaining that it's leaking oil or that the shaft doesn't slide in all the way, or both?

You said you already removed that black dust coller off of the SR transmission and replaced it with the coller off of the KA transmission correct?

The reason you replace the coller is because the two driveshafts have a different head on them, both will work and will not cause your transmission to leak.If your transmission is still leaking fluid chances are it's because the seal inside(where the shaft slides in) is bad. replace that seal and you shouldnt have that problem anymore.**also you can stop worrying about your transmission being out of an S14 because that is irrelavent, they are the same.

ok thanks a lot, but you see the two are different, you think that I have to change the seal in the transmission, but when I'm putting the original it's stop leaking...

Do have the complete JDM driveshaft? Is that the one that stops the leak? If thats the case and the JDM shaft stops the leak just use that. If you dont have the complete shaft change the seal and use the original shaft out of your 240. When you remove that black coller off of the transmission it allows the USDM driveshaft to get close enough to seal tight. These motors sometimes sit for a long time and a lot of the seals end up drying out. The seal is maybe at the most $20.

Ok thanks a lot! Now the USDM driveshaft get closer, but if I push it totally on the transmission, the pieces in rubber is about ½" to far of the output shaft tx. It is normal?thanks again, you really help me!!
