Hi Guys,

Had a question about blacking out the tail lights of my coupe... I got this "Nite-Shader" Black Lens Spray Paint from a buddy... But I'm a little skeptical to spray paint my tail lights...

Is this the best way to go about blacking out my tail lights? What about for head lights? And finally, how dark should I go before it gets to be illegal enough to get pulled over (I live in Southern CA, I've already been pulled over for my tints and no front license plate)?

Thanks!- P

NO!! NO!! NO!! Dont spray!! .. it gives you a greater chance of getting pulled over and fined... Get Vinyl Overlay!

Also with spray , if cops say take it off.. you will have to redo the process of spraying while with overlay its a one time use only though

I dont recommend doing headlights , unless you get the surrounding overlay to protect and to make it look like the chrome is black

Overlay Protect and look cool , spray will chip \ fade!

Ok, shoot thanks guys.

Seriously... f-ing cops out here are such asses. I used to drive a 95 Maxima... and i had never gotten pulled over for 8 years of driving. Then I get my G a year ago, and since then I've been pulled over 4 times (2 of which resulted in tickets)... and half of those times were for lame-*** cosmetic things like tint and no front license plate. And my tints are not even that dark in the front!!! Ridiculous.

not a fan of blacked out tail lights.....invitation to get slammed in the rear. How about just driving around with your lights off...

Even the darkest tail light overlays allow a decent amount of light to bleed through. You can still see the lights when they're illuminated.

I guess I should not have generalized. I have run up on a few cars that I could barely see the rear lights. (They were not G's)Had it been raining, it would have been even tougher to see them. I still think that diminishing the light projected makes them less safe. I do like the look though, but I wouldn't do it unless I was showing my car and could easily take them off.
