hey guys, so i want to black out my tail lights but with the GTR style, the only problem is that blue bats are not as dark as i want them, so should i just get the spary and tape up the two circles myself.

the only thing i dont like about the spary is i have seen it on some cars but it fades after a while, thats y i was going more towards the tints.

to be honest my friend used a can of night shades on my frontier tail lights to smoke them. sprayed on a few coats and they were nice and dark. you could still see plenty of light through them with halogen bulbs. that was a couple years ago and they look just as good as they did when i had them done. i had a couple people ask if it got darker!

$20 a can, if you have confidence to spray em yourself you can.

tint it a good option too, or u can have a shop do em to get the professional look and they come out more glossy too since they buff them and they look clean!

Did you get the darker 6/10 60% GTR style overlays?

You can "double stack" them for a darker look... With my overlays... or with bats.

I used Night Shade on mine, 3 coats with a few coats of clear coat and I love it.

well if i get two overlays thats double and i cant put it on cause i have tried and if i go to a shop they will charge me around 75 dollors.

i guess i'm going to go with the spary if it does stay glossy. so i should go with night Night Shade any other good sparys that stay glossy?

I believe the clearcoat is what takes the gloss away... If you just do several nightshades coats, and let it set properly, you should get the look you are trying to achieve, but realize its pretty much permanent, Id sugguest grabbing a friend whose got some exp. doing this because Ive seen a few AC's (i wont name names lol) that havent done it correctly and arent very satisfied with the result.

Good luck and post pics afterwards!

Night Shade works great. Its made specifically for that purpose. If you dont finish it with a clear coat you wont have a glossy finish.

The reason that people dont get the glossy finish is because they dont sand their lights properly beforehand!

so i should buff up (not sand right) the light before i apply the night shade, and the clear coat is another can right? if so which one should i get... and does the clear coat give or take away the gloss. and i believe my friend has done this before so i'll get him to help me out..
