Cracked open and painted the bezels gloss black.

Don't mind the overspray on the front end...I just sanded and polished off the oxidation from the headlights.

With the headlight out I figured I'd change the little "parking light" bulb with a blue LED. Here's how it looks at night with just the running lights on.

you need to paint the sides and the bottom skirts. I hate the gray on the 2003/2004s

Why thank you. I thought this blue looks freakin' sick. I love riding around at night when I can still see a little bit.

By the way...you guys need to check out the Motordyne exhaust. Its freakin' sick. I bought a y-back and now I'm getting the XYZ. I'll post up a video of it when I get the XYZ on as well.

You're one crazy mofo That looks tight as balls You didn't by chance get many pics during the light disassembly did you? I would be interested to learn more about the proper procedure. OK, did you have to put them in the oven to separate them???

No, I didnt use the oven. I have a heat gun that has 2 settings...600* and 1100*. I just used the 1100* setting and warmed up the sealant around the light starting at the top and working to the bottom. I also used a razor blade to help seperate a little as well. It was actually very straight forward. Much easier than it sounded and I thought it would be.

I don't have a heat gun, I do have an oven... but I'd be too scared to throw them in to bake

Would a hair dryer work? let me get that slap for you... So, how much for a heat gun off hand? In theory, you could use it on the tails as well... correct?

I dont think the blow dyer would work very well. It would just take too long too heat up. I think you can pick up a heat gun for like $20.

The oven option didnt appeal to me because the whole headlight assembly would be hot. With the heat gun I was able to manage where the heated parts were much easier.

Same thing would apply to the tail lights.

There are a lot of people that have done the oven thing though. Just bake for like 10 min at 225....

what brand of running lights are those? I bought the blue PIAAs and they arent blue. Pissed me off. Then I broke one taking it back out cause I was so irritated I wasnt being careful. I have been hesitant to try a diff brand.

i think the bulbs that I got for the headlights are the same ones as you would get for the corners. I just got them in a blue LED.

I wonder if anyone has tried a honeycomb interior for headlights. I used to have a set of blackout headlights that were made by Phillips that had a honeycomb interior that essentially blacked them out when not on.

Yes I did.

If you're getting the LED's for the headlights, you might think about getting some of the interior lighting bulbs as well. Instead of the yellow color I have 6K HID color lights for all the domes in my car and even my trunk and license plate light.

Domes just pop out. Use a small screwdriver. Be gentle though, its still plastic.

The license plate just pulls down and the bulb pulls right out. Very easy. Hard to screw that up.

Sweet. I've been wanting to crack open the headlights for a while now. Now I know what a black G with blacked headlights looks like.

Go ahead and do it. I think it looks great. Sort of a discreet thing that most people would overlook. Meshes with the whole look of the car IMO.

How was painting? Was this your first time doing it? My spray paint skills could use some improvement.
