So I got a new BlackBerry (Curve 8900). I usually keep my phone in the same pocket as my keys.

The first day I had it, I push the unlock button on the Rogue.

Nothing.

Hit it again.

Opens.

Get in and push the ignition in.

No green key.

Second time.

No green key.

Third time.

Disco.

So I assume my remote battery is dying. I get a new one.

No change.

Then I considered the possibility that the BlackBerry is interfering with the remote signal. So I stopped carrying my phone in the same pocket as my keys.

Problem solved.

So...FYI.

No problems with the 8700 or 8310 either but they're never in the same pocket as the smart key.

Same here - no problem with an 8330. Although it's on my belt. Key is either in a pocket or computer bag behind driver's seat.

Now if I could only transfer my addresses from the Blackberry...

We had similar issues when we purchased our G35 in 07. Was instructed not to allow our Motorola Razr to come into close proximity to the key/remote. I was in the habit of carrying my phone in my left pocket where I usually carried my car key so I had to put one in the opposite pocket.

Infiniti was well aware of the problem and working on a fix. About 2 months later we received a letter telling us to return the car for new key/remotes. We never had any lock/unlock problems or failure to start issues.

Is Nissan aware of your problem?

Ray
