I'm planning on swapping my beat up KA [240K miles w/slightly blown head gasket] for a sr20det. I have a 1993 240sx and I was wondering if there is any significant advantage that the black top has over the red top. I've noticed that the black top cost about $400 more than the red top.

Thanks

Only major difference that is rumored are some "improvements" on oil lubrication of the head on the black-top. And of course the obvious "cooling fins" on the later-year S13 red-tops and all S13 black-tops.

I say save your money, try to find a later-year Red-top or buy a regular red-top and use that extra money saved on some performance power-adders.
