hello. i'm new here. i have a 95 240sx se and i am going to have an sr20 swap. my question is: what is the best intercooler to purchase with out having to spend a lot?

to those who have an sr20 already... what intercooler do you have currently?

mind you, i will have it swapped soon so there is no aftermarket parts on it. the reason for my questions is because the only thing the engine didn't come with is an intercooler.

depends what you want to do with your car. If you are gonna leave it stock, or at the most boost up to maybe 10psi then the stock sidemount is fine. You can get them on e-bay for dirt cheap.

if you don't want to spend a lot then you can go with stock front mounts from a mitsu starion, Isuzu NPR, some volvo's and some saabs. but you will have to make some custom pipes.

Then there are the $700-1300 offerings from Blitz, HKS, Greddy..etc. IMO the Blitz LM is a quality kit that fits well and performs well. it runs about +-$900 shipped.

You can search for more info on intercoolers, and differences between setups. there is a lot of info out there.

welcome to the boards

i'm leaning towards that option... but i still have time to research and decide. the car is in the shop right now. it just sucks that i don't have the proper equipment to swap the engines myself. at least try to myself.
