A friend of mine has a black top motor that he had overbored with new forged pistons and as soon as the motor was put back together he warmed it up and then reversed and started doing a burn-out without even breaking in the new parts. What happened then was white smoke started coming out of the exhaust. He said that the rings were damaged and that's all I need, but I don't think he's too sure. I want to buy this motor from him but I don't know what the real problem is. If the rings are the problem, could I just buy new ones and install them or would the cylinder walls be damaged too? Could it just be the head gasket had been blown? Please help with this cause I really wanna run this motor. Thanks in advance!!!

So you think the turbo broke and the smoke is from the turbo coolant or something?

do a compression test. if its good and the smoke is definitely white, most likely the turbo. When it's first started no smoke, but once the motor warms up, it will start smoking. it's the turbo

Thanks for the info! I'll check the compression and the turbo. Esta Laterz->
