Black stuff

There is some black liquid coming out of my exhaust. It doesn't smell like gas or oil but it makes a mess of everything. Anybody know what it could be?

eew.. uhm, coolant contaminated by exhaust carbon?

its just condensed steam (water) that is mixing with your exhaust. Your probably running a little rich and/ or cool, or you have some crap-gas where you live.

Enough to make a mess of everything? I mean, condensation is one thing but Ive never seen enough to actually make a mess...

my car used to be like that a while ago

i think its jsut condenstation picking up the soot in the exhuast and spraying it out

hahaha, my old crx used to do that all the time during the winter, it even did it at the refree station when I went to legalize the motor and I stained their ground by the dyno and still passed.

my ka used to be WAY worse than that. After driving to school one day I got out of the car with it still running and got my backpack out of my trunk. From walking through my exhaust (sidepipe mind you) my pants were... quite black. I had to throw them away. and thats just from passing through, I was not standing in it or anything. It was running extremely rich though. (bad fuel pressure regulator im thinking)
