i have a sr20det red top. I get alot of black smoke when I drive? Anyone know what could cause this? Also I get shaking on the highway. Its not my wheels. Any suggestions? Ball joints are good, inner @outer tie rods are good, struts are good . what could it be?

Black smoke is usually the indication of a "rich" condition caused by too much fuel. Check your fuel pressure. What pump are you using? Are you using a FPR? What MAF setup?

The shaking at highway speeds can be caused by a few things. Out of balance driveshaft, out of balance axles, tires out of round, etc.

before buying anything i would check for simple things.. like making sure u dont have a boost leak.

if the maf is reading X amount of air it dumps x amount of fuel. If the air is escaping.. the fuel/air mix is not right and will cause the car to run rich..

with boost leaks there are usually other signs.. like bogging, stalling, bucking when going into boost.. etc.

If no boost leaks then yea.. fpr may have gone bad.. bad injector(s).. maybe a stuck injector.. etc.
