black smoke out exhuast! help..

i have a red top sr20 in my 89 fastback with power steering. upgrades include hks air filter, performance exhaust (just muffler), new bosh spart plugs, 20W50 sythetic blend, and i always use 91 octane gas,The problem is when ever im on boost, my exhaust expels black smoke . What should i check and repair?thankz for da help

Also, it takes 2 or 3 tryz to get it started in the morning. pumping the gas pedal helps start the motor. when it doesnt start after an attempt, all i hear is somting turning (weird noise) though..,after the motor starts it idles at 1,500 rpms and takes like 5 minutes to warm up. after itz warmed up, the motor starts to idle at about 900 rpms. Also, my exhaust manifold gasket is broken, is this kausing any power loss or damage?

i also noticed dat when the motor starts to warm up, the smell of gas comes from da exhuast including some black smoke, and when i rev the engine, black sludge shoots out after i let off the throttle. After the car is warmed up it stops shooting black smoke

Have you noticed any loss of oil?

If you have an exhaust leak at the manifold you could very well burn a valve. I'd be weary of driving around like that.

sh1t!!!!, um... yea, i got a oil change about 2,000 miles ago and i used castroll 10w30 full synthetic and then around 2,000 miles my oil ligh came on, i then blended that oil wit 3 quarts of castrol synthetic blend. and i changed the oil filter the first time. can my timing b off? and just now i added Synpower Fuel system cleaner and now my exhuast seems to be pinging or farting more?

also, (clear/white) smoke comes out of the exaust in the mornings.. which i think is normal because the air is cold and the exhuast fumes r hot..

but blue smoke doesnt come out, so i dont think im burning oil, but is it a possibility dat my pvc is damaged and that causes the oil to evaporate? i live in sunny south california.

black smoke = too much fuel.

It's most likely a bad o2 sensor, or if you have an SAFC its not tuned properly...
