.....I have a 95 altima 5speed....just recently add a cold air intake, and today just converted MAF to second generation MAF(better airflow restriction-supposedly)...as I was checking the acceleration-HI RPM, I heared a POP/BOOM ....loud enough to hear over the loud revving...and I start seing a smoke coming off my tailpipe, not black, but it leaves the black stuff in the pipe..........could you please tell me what I did, what I broke, and need to do to fix it?thx..

The new MAF is more than likely telling the ECU that there is more air entering the system than there actually is, which in turn, makes the ECM put more fuel into the combustion chamber. When there isn't the right reading at the MAF, it throws of the A/F mixture which causes the engine to run in a rich condition. Switch back to the original MAF and see if the problem persists. If it does not, leave the original MAF on.

thx....I actually did that already, and it works fine...but now my question is, what else do I need to do so I can use the MAF from 2nd generation altima/240 SX(KA24DE) since it should be better coz of less restriction on airflow...I once seen it done, but didnt get all the info of how this guys did it!
