The new MAF is more than likely telling the ECU that there is more air entering the system than there actually is, which in turn, makes the ECM put more fuel into the combustion chamber. When there isn't the right reading at the MAF, it throws of the A/F mixture which causes the engine to run in a rich condition. Switch back to the original MAF and see if the problem persists. If it does not, leave the original MAF on.
