Along the tops of my doors there are black trim strips that run front to back. They seem to have some type of black wrinkle finish on them. Its rubbing off and exposing the chrome under it. Is there something I could put over it to make it look new again? Like some kind of rubber/paint touch up?

You can strip all the black off of them and spray paint them. That is what I did for a temporary fix until I can afford the huge price-tag on new ones.

I just took a razor blade to it, it just flakes off, it is almost like a plastic.

Yuichi of KurumaZ has made aftermarket moldings to help aid this problem. Check out ConceptZperformance.com as I believe they are a dealer for them, as for Coz.

Yes, the KurumaZ kit is nice, but the full kit is $400.

yea $400 is a lot just for those strips. Did the spray paint work out in the long run? Did you rough up the surface so the paint would stick?

Bah....cry babies.

You can always RhinoLine them or something. Or even use some type of heat shrink sleave on them to get the same texture as the original.

I just prepped the chrome and sprayed some trim paint on them. They are smooth now and don't have the same texture as the original.

$400 is a lot of coin for the trim strips. I'm not looking forward to replacing those some day
