Had a little time on my hands this morning, so I turned on Rush Leimbaugh in the garage and... This wasn't the easiest job and if I had to do it agian I'd probably pass. I hate getting dirty!

before: I'm curious to see how our local police will react to this. I've been told that it may get me pulled over, so..... we will see

after:

side marks - front and rear. This is a must on the black M in my opinion, so these will stay for sure.

Looks nice. I was considering it too. What percent is the tint?

I hope not!

Seriously, while it does look very good on the car, I am concerned that this may make the brake lights tough to see at night. Cakedaddy, if you did get rear-ended in any way, this change would make it difficult to collect from your insurance and might also give the guy hitting you the opportunity to claim (and get away with it) that he/she did not see your brake lights.

Brian, Zgood points.

Here is a nite shot with brakes applied. It's actually brighter than what the pics show, but I have a feeling this will not be on the car for long. I've already had 2 warnings about my tint on the windows in the last 6 months and I very seldom drive this car, but when I do its at night in the metro areas where cops are everywhere. This tail lite tint will just be icing on the "CAKE" for a local cop. and not to mention the photo block plates!!!! ...but, this sure does look good. You can also get a look at the rear passenger side marker with the tint film while the light are on. Oh, as far as what %%%%%%....I have no idea.

Looks good, I am wanting to do this on my Q45... I may just start with the marker lights...

But I like this...

Did you use 35% or 20%?

I recently did a fine cut 1200 grit compound followed by a polish/swirl mark remover then I used an ultra fine SE wax (this stuff aint cheap). All 3M professional grade products and lastly I used 2 coats of the Meguiars Hi-Tech yellow #26 . This Meguiars Hi-Tech yellow #26 is the amazing on black. I'll probably hit it with one more coat of the Yellow #26 before I put this baby away for the winter.

Look at the "Black Car Thread"zerothread/356770

I've learned alot here...These guys are on another level when it comes to deatiling, waxing, polishing, etc.. Do a search on black cars.http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/

Here is a visual of what I work with. I use a dual action buffer with the 3m products, but the yellow #26 I apply and remove by hand.

Hey where did you find the tint for the tail lights? Was it precut or did you buy a sheet and do it yourself? I have been looking everywhere for a tail light tint kit

Nice job on the tints. You know I'm a fan of that I had my M tinted out from the tails to the markers too except I went as dark as possible but since your car is black it looks good with the light tint. I used the film what did you use here? As far as getting pulled over I have yet to get hassled for the lights but I have a stack of tickets for the actual tints on my car!!!!!
