So I have found dealers who have both a new white and black 2009 and both new white and black 2010's....My original choice was black .... so I think I will go with that. Originally I wanted an 09 but my dealer couldn't find any so I contacted another dealer and he found an 09 new super black with premium package.....now do I go ahead with this or get the new model :|

I know most of you will say 2009...but I really don't know...maybe a test drive will make my decision easier?

honestly, although I saw the 2010 in person and I admit that it looks better than it did on the pictures, IMO, it still doesn't look as sexy as the 08 and 09... an those headlights actually look worse in person due to the wierd humpback thing on the light...

but again, its up to you.. which body style do you like? If you take the 2009, but you really want projector headlights... I would take some of the money you saved by getting the 2009, and get some used 2008 or 2009 headlights to send to lightwerkz and get a QUALITY custom projector retrofit!

Doc's right about saving some money by going with the '09. That being said, I haven't seen the '10 model yet so I can't comment on a style perspective.

I can, however, tell you to be VERY CAREFUL with the black paint. Nissan's "Super Black" is a cheap azz, single layer paint that'll flake and chip if you so much as glance at it angrily. I believe the white paint is the solid triple layer they use on the Murano, Cube, etc. If you're absolutely set on the black, make sure you invest in some of the clear 3M protectant film right away!!!

wow I had no idea their black was crappy! This makes me cry.

and I'll be fully honest with you guys, I don't see the big deal in projector headlights :|

I mean I won't buy the 2010 just for the projectors as I honestly don't care for them that much (maybe I don't understand it that well?) Aren't they just the halo ring head lights?

I have yet to see either car in person. I did see a silver 2009 the other day and I was like nice! I also saw an infiniti from behind and mistook it for an A/C so yea...

I would get white if I can tint it out ...according to florida laws I think these are the limits:

Windshield Non-reflective tint is allowed along the top of the windshield above the manufacturer's AS-1 line.Front Side Windows Must allow more than 28% of light in.Back Side Windows Must allow more than 15% of light in.Rear Window Must allow more than 15% of light in.

Front Side Windows Must not be more than 25% reflective.Back Side Windows Must not be more than 25% reflective.

How dark is that? Is that normal? :>

I always associated white cars with girls too

LIES! All lies! White cars are freakin' hot. If I had to do it over again, I'd definitely opt for white.

Projectors utilize a specialized lens which focuses the light in a very precise manner. "Regular" lights simply use a reflecting bowl to throw the light forward. Right now, projectors are the "hot item" on new cars. In a few years, it'll probably be LED headlights...

As for the tint, I wasn't aware that any state actually allowed tint on the driver and passenger windows! 15% is what I have on my three rear windows. It's pretty much perfect IMHO. I've got 30% on my driver and passenger windows, and while it looks pretty good (it's very obviously tinted) I'd prefer it to be a bit darker...but then the local 5-0 would get cranky with me...

Hm interesting. Projectors are the way to go then. I guess it also depends on how low I can get the 2009 for. What do you guys think it should be? I mean most of you said you got your 2009 new back when it was new new with premium package for like 31k I believe? So by now surely I should be able to drop it to 27k at least? I know they have 0% financing for 60 months so that would be pretty helpful as I'm still in university.... hmmm

lol ya I know..i saw a white the other day and im telling ya it changed my mind immediately...and I've ALWAYS wanted a black car forever....but just lookin at that white altima coupe 2.5s made me go

i was leaning towards white and I felt that the white in 08 was more a girls car. 2 girls by my house have it in white and every time I see a white one a girl is driving it. I also fell in love with black immediately. The white coupes on the forum look awesome I must say. check out cardomain and look at the black and white modified coupes.

Keep in mind that the newer model altima coupe basically screwed our modification options for the future. companies will be less willing to invest in a car that only lasted 2 years. That means probably no projector or black headlights or any more grills of body kits. Atleast the back is the same.

I agree that the white coupes only look good once modified (or at least look a lot better once modified) and I don't really have much time at all to be doing any of that sort of stuff.. at least yet. I like the diffuser on the 09 because it's black and in the 2010 it's the same color as the entire body which makes it kinda not so visible anymore. Aren't the people who buy 2010 be more screwed because I heard they will change it even more in 2011..Unless I heard wrong..maybe it was just the engine that will change.

I think ur right... if we are to believe the executive at Nissan, the 2010 model is kind of a "limbo" year... the 2011 is supposed to be a serious revamping... but who knows

altima is selling well, i'm not too sure about the coupe. i forgot where i read it, but someone was talking about how nissan wasn't as happy with the coupe sales and reconsidered rebranding it as another car (possibly silvia revival) not sure if it was BS or not

Yes i believe so. I don't see that many A/C's on the road so I guess maybe they don't sell like hot cakes. I don't know the actual sales #

I should have.. my hood has white spots from chipping and it scratches SO easily. In a year or two it'll be due for a paint job I guess... :/. Blue here I come hahahhaa.

Blue, hey? That was my original colour choice but decided against it since it was only available with the tan interior. When I get mine repainted, it'll probably still be black...but a good 3-layer metallic job.

Does anyone know what happens when my local dealer gets the car from another dealer who has the car I want? Do they just ship or drive it over here? And do I get charged for this? Can I just go pick it up instead?

lol for real. Actually my friend's friend who lives at villa de lago owns a 2009 A/C and I just got back from checkin it out and I've decided black is the way to go! However once I do get a car and if I ever decide on mod'ing it I may ask for your help/advice (with the small stuff) if you're available!

Money matters to me - if faced with your dilemma, I would get a 2009 that is sitting on their lot due to the discount
