So I was driving my 240 a couple nights ago and hit a patch of black ice. I was doing about 30-35mph, having no idea that the roads were icy. I turned left on a curve but the car just kept going straight, right into a telephone pole. Here's the end results, they're not pretty...

Is there any hope for her? The car was still running after I crashed, only reason it didn't start after was because the fuse box pretty much got ripped out. I know it'll take a lot of time and money, but my friend told me he's heard of people getting JDM S14 front clips. Will this work and what does it require? Thanks for all the help, I'll keep you guys updated with more pics as I start taking her apart.

yea.. just get a JDM front clip..

make sure when you order it that it wasn't a smashed front clip..(some are)

next.. go to a chassi place and make sure the frame is still straight.. if not they can try to bring it back close to original

but it took a hard hit

solution 2 would be buying another s14 even if it's auto.....you got all the parts to make it happen

well doesnt sound like you were injured thankfully, as for the s14 you may be able to fix it or as suggested earlier get another one and your current car would be a parts car. good luck!

That happened to me a few years ago with my first 240. Right into the foundation of a barn. I ended up bending the frame so I was forced to junk it. The frame had a good bit of rust on it though. If the car was clean, get what you can out of it and start over is my opinion.

Poor Kouki.

In my opinion. Part out and find another, keep/swap everything undamaged from your old car you like better then the new shell. Once your car is no longer useful sell it to a scrap metal yard, but only after seeing if any NICO drifters want to buy fresh quarter panels.

ouuch... the frame will be the big problem... if its intact a front clip should be fine... unless the engine is effed up... it might be best to just but another one... youll probably end up paying the samehttp://forums.nicoclub.com/zeropost?cmd=reply&id=4304420#

Insurance would total that car for sure. Its not worth fixing to be quite honest with you. Take your insurance money if you get any and just buy a new one, and part that one out if you can somehow keep it. That hit got into the frame for sure. Yea you can mess with frame straitening but its ultimately just a bandaid to a serious problem. By the time you finish, you could have probably just bought a new car.

Well, that looks like it hurt.

Anyway, unless that little dent in the A pillar was there before, you may have some warping in the body that'd make replacing the front clip a much more involved and nightmarish endeavor than it already is. When stuff doesn't line up, you could have issues with the sub frame bolt holes not lining up properly, or things that were originally very close to the firewall rubbing under hard acceleration, etc.

My best recommendation is well, you now have a brand new parts car to use with the new car you should look into buying, to cover any cosmetic or mechanical issues that could be present in it from the doors back.

Sorry to hear about te shot to the nose... but as long as your ok than thats one up! ya def more than 5 grand in damage... if you love something let it go. lol. find a new one.

but if you really like the car... if you can find a shop with a frame machine piecing the front clip to the shell will prob take the better part of a month then body and paint work is extra... pluss all the mech like suspension and engine...

hope this helps

good luck

Everyone says get a front clip..... Do you guys know how much work that it. Frame rails, fire wall, then all the shimming and lining up. Strip it down first then take pics. I don't think it would be worth fixing. The amount of labor and price of the clip are gonna set you back more then a new shell.
