Bit the Bullet and Bought Two EX 35s

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Hi everyone, after researching for two months and looking at all the brands, my brother and I each decided to buy the Ex 35. Yesterday, last day of the month, we penned the deal. Two EX 35 Journey AWD with Premium Package, Wood Package, Splash Guards, Gargo Protector, Luxe Style Package. Traded in 2 2001 QX4s with 47,000 and 55,000 miles respectively. Dealer gave us $10K for each QX4. Journeys listed for $42, 225 each. So total, out the door including tax and transfer plates, was: $84,450-$10,000-$10,000-$7475 off MSRP-$7475 off MSRP=$49,500 cash. So, essentially, they gave us $10,000 each per trade and $7475 each off MSRP. Dealer was Devan Infinit in Fairfield, CT. Did we do well?

Ultimately a deal on a car is only good if you enjoy how it drives. And I think you'll love driving the EX far more than you would have with the Murano.

Congrats!

Thanks! I think you are right. EX is also very luxurious on the inside and I like the exterior styling.

Sounds good to me, though not a spectacular extra special deal because you bought two of them. But for sure a solid good deal. Hard to know how far the dealer would have bent if you had only bought one; some dealers are holding tighter than others for various reasons. I priced out that same car as you bought (identical features and MSRP) and was getting offered just under $32k by one dealer and $32k by another. Yet another would not go that low and was hovering right above $33k. I think between 9 and 10k off MSRP is equal to the good deals that other people are getting. 11k would be rockstar. But what you did was solid or better than solid. More importantly, it's a great car for $32k.

Wow, BMore, that's a great deal just under $32K. Did you grab it? We tried to squeak another 1000 off each car, but the dealer wouldn't budge. Weprobably could have gotten another $250 off each car, but when the sales manager said itwould come out of the salesman's pocket, we didn't want to be too cheap. What color(s) are you looking at?

i took a different car but for the same deal. there are so many dealers in the DC area, maybe that played into it. but they gave me that price quote right off the bat, via first phone call inquiry, so maybe that was their strategy to get me away from the other dealers. not sure. at that point they didn't know i had a trade, so it was just their price. with my trade, they recouped some of that great deal back!

i think your deal is good.
