Who else is looking forward to this?

I've been looking forward to it since before it was even conceived...

The Marketplace Demo was excellent. Now I just have to decide whether to pick up the PC or 360 version...

Oh yeah. I even ran around town for a couple hours on Wednesday looking for stores willing to break street date. No luck, so I guess I'll go to a 24 hour Walmart after work on Monday.

The demo didn't have me wanting a whole lot more. At least the playable portion. The clips that followed did seem more appealing, but unless the action frequency and scale increases some, I'm not sure if I'd end up liking it or not...we'll see I guess.

If you go into Bioshock expecting nonstop crazy action, you WILL be disappointed.Bioshock is a first person RPG. The developers mention how the game offers more room for exploring than any other first person title before. The game is extremely story-based but rather than having the story drive you, you drive the story. You will be able to investigate and discover. It's about Rapture (the city) and what happened to it, and you will get the opportunity to find the answers. The combat definitely looks fun, but again, if you go in expecting Halo, you're playing the wrong game.

Unfortunately what most games stores (Or any store for that matter) neglect to say is that it SHIPS tomorrow. Which in the video game world 99.9% of the time, means that they'll have it late Tuesday night, if not Wednesday morning. Happens everytime. I'm really looking forward to it but school starts this week so I'll hardly have time for playing it

Too slow for me. Downloaded the demo from Xbox live and got bored fast. Won't get it. There are alot of other good games coming out that I may get tho. See my other thread.

Yeah, that's usually the case. But it looks like Gamestop is doing a midnight opening for Bioshock tonight.

if thats the case then ill be at gamestop tonight! i was planning on going to the super wal-mart. After hearing about this game for years i HAVE to have it.

I was thinking about getting the PC version and saving a few bones, but my comp just makes the min requirements, and i want all the eye candy i can have with this beast of a game.

The Limited Edition of this looks awesome.

Comes with a solid-looking metal DVD case (the coolest one I've seen yet) and a 6" painted Big Daddy figure as well as the usual bonus content (DVD and soundtrack CD plus a poster and other little things).

The big daddy figurine:

And the whole shebang:

Collectors Editions are cool and all but they should drop the title "Collector" The UBER mass quantity they are produced in makes them anything but. What are the Big Daddies BTW? Human? Robot?

I'm not sure what they are at this point. It might be revealed in the game, but I don't think anyone has said exactly what they are yet.

LOL, I still need to finish playing through System Shock 2.

In all seriousness though, when I finally get around to buying a 360, this will be a "day 1" purchase. 360 ownership is getting more compelling every day, although I'll likely put it off for awhile since I JUST bought a Wii.

Halo 3, GoW, Bioshock, and Oblivion are the real reasons I want a 360. Forza can get f**ked.

well i just got done with a 6 hour sit down with it (decided i needed a break) and i must say, it is WAY better than anything i could ever have hoped for.

First off, Last night at midnight i was on a mission to get this game and play it, so i head over to the super wal-mart and they tell me "we will put it out when we get to it, which could be as late as 7a.m." So off i went to see if Gamestop was really having a midnight release for it, and none of the ones around me were. Off to bed to get it in the morning.

So the first thing i have to say about the game is if you even remotely like FPS games GET THIS GAME. It plays great, and has a very creepy feel to it. It looks so good ( i get to play it on my roommates 51" high def TV) And it blows anything else on the 360 out of the water, that includes you Gears of War. The voice acting is really well done, and it adds a lot of life to the enemies.

This is not a run and gun game though, ammo is very scarce, most of the time i find myself switching through all of my guns just to get the 2-3 bullets that were left in them. This becomes a huge problem when fighting the Big Daddys ( which are very difficult)

The powerups you get for your character are not only a nice addition to the game, they are essential for playing, and find myself using a combo of the powerups and guns to take care of the enemies all the time.

The hacking minigames are alright, since its only one kind of puzzle they get kind of tiresome. I like the option to just pay them off and not deal with it all the time.

All in all, i am so glad i got this game, and i am so glad it lived up to its hype and then some. This is essential to any 360 owners game collection.

Well crap.

This game runs like poo on my computer. Looks like I'm going to have to pick up the 360 version. Damn. $50 wasted.

I wasnt even gonna try to play it on my comp. I figured the extra 10 bucks was worth the smooth frame rate and eye candy. Though one fight with a big daddy got choppy for a few seconds. but it only happened once.

Return it? Where'd you buy?

EB/GS will take almost anything back, in my experience.

I've never been able to return an opened PC game anywhere.

Plus I got the collector's edition which I doubt I'll be able to find another of.

Since my GF is interested in the game, we picked up a copy yesterday. I'll give it a shot after she's done. Though, that may be a while since it's already starting to scare her a bit and if she doesn't finish it before Halo3 comes out, then it'll probably have to wait even longer. And with the line-up of other games that will be released later this year...

I love this game. Has anyone fought against the doctor he is easy, but he is cool as ****. The game is simply amazing I really love it and I have only played it for 2 hours, but that is what this weekend is for (also finishing Dirt, I only have about 5 races left). I can't wait till tomorrow since playing it tonight is out of the question because I am at work from 8am-9pm tonight. Sucks, but I can't do much about it.

He was trying to decide what game to buy you and didn't know what you had so he asked me what games you had. I consulted your played games list to make some suggestions
