Downloaded this last night (I forgot it was being released a week or so ago). I forgot how much I loved the original from back in teh day until I played this. I have to say Grin did a great job of updating the old version without destroying the feel of it.

Also, multiplayer has some good potential. It really reminds me of Super Smash Bros, with bionic arms!

Did anyone catch the Badd saying "ROFL" in one of the level 1 comm posts?

This demo reminded me how much I HATED the original. Terrible game. Horrible idea. I absolutely despise the fact that you can't jump since you have the arm.

On top of the actual gameplay premise sucking, the controls are atrocious.

The PS3's controls seem pretty spot on IMO. I heard the sexbox had some control issues.

I don't like that the arm aiming and steering are all done with the same stick. The xbox controller has two analog sticks, a d-pad, two triggers, and 8 buttons. Why are ALL the controls for this game relegated to one stick and two buttons? Terrible.

I don't like that you have to press "B" again to retract the claw if you're going up. Up+B to grab, B to raise up, up to climb up. Why can't it just be "up+B, then up." The controls (not just layout, but actual functions) are as un-fluid as possible. Everything's clunky and over-complicated. The fact that you're making a 8-bit-style sidescroller doesn't mean you can disregard all advancements in control quality made in the last 15 years.

Meh. I've got no problem with the control setup. It didn't bother me in the 80s and it doesn't bother me now. It just makes it so much more satisfying when you pull off a complicated swing maneuver. Like trying to get the secret item all the way on the right in the Construction Zone level. It took me seriously a couple dozen tries to get the swing just right to vault over the 2 foot cement block keeping me from the secret.

BC was never a game loved by all, so there's nothing wrong with people not liking it. I happen to love the concept and being all bada$$.

I'm totally psyched about the sequel right now. Swinging in full 3d like that will be the sh1t. And some of the moves they show off just look awesome. Like grabbing an enemy, reeling yourself into him for a chest kick. I want to do that in real life!

I'm having trouble getting through all the rooms for the barriers. Just gotta practice it a bit and get the timing down.
