So, I was doing some research on shocks and struts as I'm looking to replace mine soon. I had heard a number of less-than-flattering reviews of KYB on other sites (namely offroad), so I was looking into what other options there were, and turned up the fact that Bilstein
does in fact make struts for the R50s! It looks like they're generally just Germany/UK items, but they can be had on eBay. This is a screenshot from
their catalog (~40MB):
The shocks (rear) part isn't news since the same or similar shocks can be had from them on 4x4parts.com, but everything I read here indicated struts weren't an option.
I'll probably end up getting some OMEs or something from 4x4parts.com since I prefer to buy local in the interest of supporting local(er) businesses and simpler return processes, but I wanted to post this finding in the interest of community knowledge
