Well im on my way with buying all my stuff for my KAT setup. So for i got my Intercooler kit, tial bov, 38mm tial WG, jgs turbo kit, fuel pump-injectors and reg kit, and a few other things but as of now im looking for something to tune with and i think bikirom is a awsome way to go. I will not have a problem installing the board from previous soldering skills.

Any ways im running a 96 manual obdII ecu in a 98 s14 that was converted to manual. I was on bikiroms web page and seen that they want you to use a 94-95 ecu i belive.

I want to clarify that this is only obd 1 compatible?

If so will there need to be any wiring harness changes at my ecu connector? iv all ready switch 2 or 3 wires around because of the auto-5spd swap.

And if i need a 94-95 ecu does it have to be manual? and where would be the best place to find one.

oh p.s my car is in the body shop because here in Michigan we have these bastard things we hit in cars called deer. they only seem to run out at the worst possible moment, or you just don't even see them at night (in my case) thank god for AAA full coverage as all the damage to my right front corner is being replaced/fixed. no structural damage just fender bumper and partial hood. it had bad hood chips anyway so whoohooo for that i guess. but thanks for reading my stuff any help is grateful.

At this point bikirom only works with OBDI (or zero depending on how you interpret it) ecu's, the bin data is encrypted on the OBDII ecu's...hope you don't have emissions in yer area of Michigan. The bikirom should work equally well on a manual or auto '95 ecu (94 won't work, that must be for japan/australia). IMO i wouldn't bother with an auto ecu.

The 95 and 96 ecu's are a direct swap to each other. If you are already running a '96 ecu on a 98' then you must have already changed the one pin that makes that ecu work on your car.

I would recommend doing a bit more research before getting into Bikirom, there are a lot of issues tuning S14's. The map tracing does not work very well (if at all) so tuning can be hit or miss. I already invested in the Bikirom daughterboard but haven't installed it in my car yet, if it don't work I'm screwd.

yeah the price for a stand alone of 300 is just amazing to me. the price of 1500 for the aem is not. I think the enthalpy is my only option as of now.

i know the inital buy of a enthalpy tune is 500 but how much are re flashes if it cost anything for when i do my engine build more boost ect.

and from what your saying the bikirom is not s14 friendly which i never knew. theres not to much information about biki atleast on nico. but i might look a little bit more around.

I've got a bikirom installed in a 95 manual ecu. Works fine for me although i never went ka-t so i never really played with tuning on it. Maptracing can be accomplished using nissan datascan so i wouldn't see that as a problem. I decided to go rb. Anyway it's already installed and i'll let it go for cheap if you want to give it a shot. I can get some pics or vids of it running if you want too.

I thought the maptracing was only for Z31 applications? I guess I'll find out when I try it out on my bikirom.
