Hey allI've been reading thru this stuff in this forum (which is great to finally have now) and I really am just looking to see what people's opinions are on these 3. I'll tell you all the setup I'll have so you have an idea of what I plan on making with it (cuz I know systems have thier limits). So this should help you suggest whats right for me to use. I wil be drivign the car daily and occasionally going to the track with it. I'd like it to make 300-350whp on pump gas on the stock block (I know thats pushing the limits on the stock block)

Planned...

T3/T04e 57 trim with a .60 a/r cold side and .63 a/r hot side and stage 3 wheel 5 bolt exhaust housingCustom 3in D and turbobackSS Top mount Mani38mm exernal WG1g DSM bovWalbro 225lph HP FP650cc injectors for deuatscheworks (sp?)MBCBoost and oil pressure gaugesFMIC off a stock EVOZ32 MAF

Thanks!

650cc injectors are probably a little too big for the old E-manage. Ive heard good things about the E-manage Ultimate, but it is rather expensive. I would lean more towards the BikiRom board, you can tune it yourself its fairly cheap, and has some pretty cool features the only thing is it's fairly new and not really proven. On the other hand if your planning on taking it somewhere to get it tuned, then you probably better off with the E-manage Ultimate, as Im sure more shops will be able to tune it. I dont know how straight-forward the BikiRom board is to tune.

If you can tune the Bikirom it's hand's down the best option, since you can alter idle minimun injector time in order to have a much better idle even with bigger injectors... which the emanage cannot. Just an example amonst other things.

biki is supposed to include a very thorough description for install, tuning, etc. he's written up tons of stuff and has a forum so if you have any problems you can talk to him and other people with the boards. like it was said before though it has yet to be proven by customers... biki did a lot of testing though... just not so much with ka-t... but the boards are all identical for the most part. but i'll let you know when i get mine too.

Yeah I've looked at the website and the forums, but there really isnt a whole lot of information as to how the board actually works and what it is capable of. Anyone know of any other sites that might explain the board more completely?

The bikirom is a deluxe usb update daughterboard. It also has a built in consult port to derive some of its information and also allow full monitor/datalog. It has extra on board outputs to control various things, user definable.

It uses the factory nissan fueling algorithms and data, allows you to modify all of these in a handy environment.

So basically, tuning is the similar to those using eprom daughterboards in their ecu.

There is some nissan ka24 specific ecu tuning information here http://eccs.hybridka.com . We are discussing info which would include the use of bikirom usb boards. The roms posted would work with those boards as well.

I've never heard of this bikirom thing. But I'm curious as to how it would actually be able ti run a shorter fuel injector pulsewidth than the factory ECU. Unless it uses it's own injector drivers, I would thinking it would have the same limitations as the stock ECU and even JWT ECU's. Piggybacks generally would have these same limitations. However the E-Manage Ultimate would likle ybe running it;'s own injector drivers from what I know of how it works and hence the only one other than stand-alones that could possibly have drivers that can accomodate shorter pulsewidths than the factory ECU's. Of course, the injectors themselves can have limitations on this as well.

With the Biki rom you can change the Min Pulsewidth setting on the EEPROM so as per software goes you can make it smaller. Si there hardware limitations with the drivers? I would believe that the injectors (solenoids) would first have limitations rather than the electronic drivers (tristors probably). I cannot see my ECU or my spare ECU right now. Would anyone care to share the markings on the injectors drivers so I can look them up for specs.

I' ve been researching this topic for the past day or so and here are some of my findings:

- The badbiki ROM tune gives you better control over the stock ECU so you don't have to fight it as much.- The badbiki ROM tune (the new mega board) also has the ability to datalog same as the emanage- The badbiki ROM tune can give you access to the consult interface with the ECU.

- The emanage ultimate also datalogs as said- The emanage ultimate can control the inyectors completely, so no need to fight the ECU... I think.- The emanage ultimate can interface an external pressure sensor and WB to datalog and the autotune feature seems to be working... maybe- With the external pressure sensor you can eliminate the MAF and go MAP with some paciencie and troubleshooting. This should also be possible with the badbiki ROM, but it also might affect other maps so the outcome is unknown.

Right now I'm probably going to buy an Ultimate Emanage, hopping that future software updates fix the issues that it's having so far.

Now one question. What do you people think about using the stock knock sensor + the Ultimate to datalog and control knock, instead of using the MSD knock meter for example? The knock datalog is not yet released on the Ultimate but hopefully it will soon enough.

I'm planning on running WB + knock meter + PS with the Ultimate to have full control over my car and try no to blow up any more motors.

With a high boost motor like yours is getting to be hugetpg, I would try to avoid tuning by listening to knock. Yes, of course you should watch out for it and listen for it, but once you start getting up in the higher boost I like to go rich + retarded and then slowly back it off until I am making good power with still a safe tune. If you start dialing things until you hear knock and then try to backtrack you can cause yourself some big problems. At 20-25 psi you dont hear knock, the timing goes out and thats IT for your motor. Seriously there is isnt much room for error up there, detonation is extremely damaging- I wouldnt want to hear it at all.

So that said, I dont think a more sensetive knock sensor is really worth it. You can do the same thing with the ultimate by having the fuel + timing react if the AFR goes out of wack with the O2 correction tables.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong on this, but thats pretty much my idea on the subject.

I would have a knock setting simply retardy 8 degree's of timing. Pretty simple really, just like running N2O. Just a knock sensor triggering the timing retard rather then the On/Off N2O source. Have it trigger a light at the same time so you 're aware of whats happening.
