has anyone tried putting a bike rack? I've seen different ones before. I've seen the ones on the roof and some attached to the back of the car. has anyone had experience with the once that some how attach to the back of the car?

The ones that strap to the trunk lid usually warp the trunk from all the weight.

oh that sucks... I'm scared to get a roof rack because knowing me, I'd probably some how drop the bike on top of my car or something and scratch it up.

i'd much rather do that than warp my trunk. then again, i have a fixed gear so it's light as s***, moving it isn't much of a problem :chuckle:

Go with the roof rack. Those trunk mount racks do not secure the bike well, so there will be a lot of swaying/rubbing between either the rack and your bike's paint, or other bikes.

If you're concerned about dropping your fork and scratching/denting your roof, you may be able to fit a rack that mounts by the bike's wheels. These are a plus if your bike has disc brakes.

I'm actually going to buy a cheap utility vehicle one of these days so I can haul all my stuff (incl. bikes) around. The different types of bike racks all have their positives and negatives...

The best bike racks are the kind that attach to a hitch. That's what we have to haul our bikes. Granted the hitch receiver is mounted to our Saturn Ion and not the A/C but I think someone makes them for the A/C.
