Bike Fit Inside WITHOUT Taking Front Wheel Off?

Considering a 2013 Rogue (have a great offer on an SV with SL Package) but not sure my Trek 7.2 FX will fit inside comfortably with back seats down. My measurements indicate it will be a tight fit at best, possibly helped with front passenger seat down. If it's a struggle to get in/out each time, I'd rather know now as I don't want to damage the bike or mar the vehicle interior. Anyone have experience, good or bad?

Appreciate any input!

I can fit my Trek 6700 MTB in the Rogue without having to take the front wheel off.

To make it easier taking the bike in and out (so it doesn't get caught on things) and to not scuff the interior, I lay a tarp down and use the tarp to help load/unload the bike, see previous post: post6363095.html#p6363095

Thanks for the quick response! Is it hard work to get in/out? My Trek needs 70" but turning the handlebar probably could do with the 66" I've measured from rear of back seat. Also, does putting the front passenger down help at all? Like the tarp idea...

Not hard at all, tarp helps quite a bit with both loading/unloading and keeping the interior scuff and dirt free.
My handlebar does turn when pushed in but there's enough space height wise to not hit the headliner.
I don't fold the front passenger seat down.

I'm so bummed that nobody liked my suggestion from the other thread.

There's nothing like putting a salesman on the spot. Take your bike with you when you go to test drive a Rogue (or any other vehicle you're considering). I do this with my dogs. If there's an issue with them being able to get in/out of the vehicle, then it's eliminated from consideration. It's part of the reason the Toyota FJ Cruiser was eliminated. Ok, I didn't do this when I bought my first Rogue, but I was more than confident my fur kids would be fine with my vehicle choice.

Good strategy but I couldn't even get my bike into my Altima today with the front wheel off! So need to be sure it's gonna fit in my next vehicle.....

If the bike is a big concern why not get the tow package and get a tow bike hitch/rack?

I could do that w/my Altima but for security, etc I want the bike inside the vehicle.

I do it all the time. My bike is a road (cyclocross actually) bike with 700c wheels and a 58cm frame. It has a rack and often fenders installed.

What I do is stand on the left side of the bike with the front wheel facing the car. I reach over the bike and pick it up and place the front wheel on the right side of the floor. Then I can let go of the front wheel and guide it in by holding the back half of the bike. I have to tilt the bike at about a 45 degree angle for it to fit in.

I lay the bike down with the front wheel right behind the passenger seat. You might need to move the passenger seat forward a little bit.

My Rogue has black upholstery, so I don't worry too much about it. One thing to be careful about, though, scratching the rear bumper cover. It's easy to do if you are not careful.

I just went biking yesterday and threw my Trek MTB in the back without taking the front wheel off, although I usually do since it's got quick releases. Takes a little more manuvering, but even with it having a 21" frame and the seat post all the way up it fits fine.

Thanks for the info! Heading over to the Nissan dealer tomorrow to test drive a 2013 Rogue - will bring it home to see how my bike fits. BTW, it's a 17.5" Trek 7.2 FX so I'm hoping it will fit w/o a struggle. Been offered a great deal on a SV (under $20K).
