Biggest tire size on 7in rims?

im looking to buy new rims but im having a hard time finding 17x8s so ill prob go with 17x7s. i was wondering whats the biggest tire that will fit on a 7in width? i did some research and found lots of diff answers 235, 245, 255? appreciate the help guys.

each brans and line of tire will actually be a bit different, for a 7" wheel generally anything from a 205-245 will fit without issue, most 215-225's would be the ideal fit, if you have a particular tire you like they publish siggested wheel size and diminsions online, also tirerack has a grear spec's page for all the tires they sell

Ideally, a 205 would be somewhat a square fit on 7"s...

I wouldnt go above 215's.

Dont give up so easily. Keep looking for some nice 17x8 wheels...

All you need to do is go to tirerack.com and pull the specs on a tire you are interested in. They list all sizes of each model and list the rim widths that it will fit on and the rim width it was designed for. If tirerack doesn't carry the brand/model you are looking at, the manufacturer's website will also give you all the specs.

I do this for every tire/rim combo I ever purchase. All the info you need is out there, you just need to look for it...
