I love the horrified look of a dead fish, especially when its fried whole and resting on your plate. OM NOM NOM.

Yeah me holding it was with it gutted and ready for filleting.
We filleted half, made steak out of the other half.

I had it's shoulder (Salmon Kama...mmmm.) grilled shioyaki style last night (Covered in salt and blasted near the heating elements). Best fish dinner I've EVER had.

No chance.
salmon < catfish
But salmon is good too.

That's a big mother. If you like ranch you can pour some over top of a fillet and bake it. Add some spice and lemon mmmm

Columbia river near Richland, Washington. We anchored and let the tide bring the fish to us.

I caught a king salmon on lake ontirio that was about the same size or maybe alittle bigger then yours. And I was a bout to enter a fishing tornament right before I left but my friend talked me out of it, I wouldve won 10k

King = Chinook. So same fish. I didn't know they had king salmon in the great lakes.

NICE. Definitely the best part of the fish! Great catch, btw.

I guess that would be Sake Kama?

I want to buy a whole Salmon and cook each part of the fish in a different way and serve it all in the same big meal for 8-10 people. "Study of Salmon".

Definitely one of my favorite things to eat. Every part of that fish is delicious. Roast the kama, do a stock to flavor risotto out of the head/bones, poach fillets in champagne and serve with crispy "salmon skin cracker", smoked salmon w/choucroute & beurre blanc, salmon roe on brioche w/creme fraiche, steaks en papillote, and of course 2-3 raw preparations (sashimi, tartare w/quail egg yolk & pickled beet, etc).

I wonder if you can do anything with the liver. It's probably too small. Monkfish liver is my faaaaaaavorite.
