I've been using a PH2870A filter on my ka24e that is really for a VW1.8t. This is pretty cool because it's excactly the same diameter as the reccomended spec, just a little longer. But, I picked up a Motorcraft FL1A yesterday thats like easily twice as big as the one on there now, and I think it's gonna fit. The o-ring and threads are excactly the same as stock!

Update! The FL1 filter does have the same size threads and o-ring as the reccomended stock replacement filter, but the diameter was too large. It was interfering with the oil pressure sender quite nastily. I got the thing on, but took it back off the next day. I didn't want the sender to break off. I did, however, stick with the PH2870A, which is about an inch taller, (and the same diameter), than stock, and I have no problem getting that one on/off.
