Ok so I got new wheels and tires, 18x8.5 front with 245/40/18 tires (used to be my rears) and 18x9.5 with 275/40/18 tires.

taking offramps at speed (maybe a 15 degree bend) my VDC kicks in *Slip* buuurrrrr *slip* Buuuurrr *Slip Buurrrr... at 90mph it's NOT a nice thing to happen to you. Now my but dyno and wheel feel, tells me I'm still FAR from the point of losing traction. So I know thw wheels are messing with the VDC system...

WTF do I do??

not taking a exit at 90mph would help. cause regardless of how the car feels when you take a exit ramp if it is downward you will lose some weight at the rear wheels which may set it off...

Yup. The system is VERY sensitive and conservative....

It keeps doing it and only since I got the new wheels..

Anyway remember I'm a drifter... I know when a car is loosing traction for real.

My work around is turning off the VDC.. what's the real fix?

There's a good chance that its being caused because of the size of your tires... The OE diameter for the front (225/45/18) is approximately 25.9", and the rear (245/45/18) is 26.7". Now, you're running approximately 25.7" front and 26.6" rear.

So, it may that your fronts are worn and below 25.7". From what I've heard, the difference between front and rear needs to be between 1/2" and 3/4".

Suggested resolution, get the proper size tires.

Today I took a onramp at 35mph and I got the *slip* buuurr *slip* Buurrrr...

yeah the computer is confused because of the new sizes... I'm sure of that.

is there a workaround other then turning it off... I don't really like traction control in the first place it's just that I don't want to have to remember to turn it off every time I get in the car.

Buy new tires or buy one of those modules that allows the VDC system to retain a memory...

Those are the only other "workarounds".

Just leave it turned off? Dunno how it works in the Infinitis but in the 350GT its just a switch which can be permanently moved to 'off'.

All you would likely need is a time delayed momentary switch. I'm thinking it will need a ground signal, but you may need to confirm by testing it. I used a device called the NoNag, which was actually designed to bypass the disclaimer screen on the navigation system. I actually used it to turn on an xbox for me so I had contacted generatorlabs.com asking if they can make a specific model to my specifications. It had a 2 second delay and pulsed a .5 second ground pulse when the ingition was turned on. Something similar can likely be done once you know what signal you need to activate the switch for you. There are other ways, and perhaps cheaper ways to do this, but just throwing out some options/ideas. The NoNag is $59.99.

You have to change the tire size or have to get the module. You can't turn it off 100% with factory set up. Module allows you to turn it off.

I figured it out on fresh alloy (ewww) anyway.. Unplug the Yaw sensor and VDC is gone but you still have ABS.

NICE!!

The yaw sensor is a small black box just behind the shifter.
