So I just swapped a new engine in same KA42E like before. I paid $600 for it. Had a 30 day start up warranty. Well Its been over 2 mo. it ran ok but have a funny sound coming from the back.

Friday, I was driving to work. It revved up to about 4-5Grand and now it sounds the same way it did before my piston ejected through the headers.

It has not ejected yet and has not blown. the sound is starting to get louder so I shut it down and had it towed back to my place. Is there any saving it since it has not blown all the way yet?Sorry if in wrong place. Move if necessary.

I hope I can cause I dont have the money to replace the engine again. This would be the 2nd engine in less then 3 mo.

No. It might be time for a rebuild. It could be any number of things. I bought a "built" ka from Phoenix Turbo a few years ago before they changed their name. The motor was "supposed" to have all arp hardware. Well I installed it and 1000 miles later the old oem rod bolts they installed instead or the arp stuff loosened themselves up, sheered off, and threw one of the rods through the block. It made a similar noise right before it grenaded.

I'd put the car up on jack stands and drain the oil to see if there is any metal shavings in it. Pull the oil pan and have a look too. Sorry man but it sounds bad.
