Anyone running the holsed hx35 turbos instead of the garrets? i have one on my 4cyl ranger and it spools good but twins on the 300 im not to sure about. im only worried about spool time, i already have the gt3071r turbos which is supposed to be equivalent to the holset hx35, but its ball bearing and the holset is not. i could use the holsets with with .55ar housings. i have all supporting mods, inectors, greddy side mounts, ash ecu, 555 injectors, looking to upgrade to 044 fuel pump.... just dont want to drop the cash and end up with no boost untill 6k!... insight thoughts experience with them. oh and i saw a vid on utube of a 1200hp 300 running holsets hx40s, dont know if it really was 1200 or even hx40s...

No experience with them, but the lack of BB won't slow them down all that much. BB doesn't decrease spool RPM as much as it improves transient repsonse. If you're already running the gt3071's, I don't think you'll gain anything from them though, as like you said, they're basically the same size.

Well they can run huge amounts of boost, the deisel guys run them at 40+ psi all day long, plus they are cheap to rebuild, can't even rebuild the gts just exchange them, for a heavy price too.

That's true, they're a very durable and cheap to rebuild turbo. I'm a CA18 guy and there are a few of us running around with them and they've all had good luck with them. Not sure about the Z32 guys though.
