So today i got too drive my 240 around since i put in the ka and i drove it all day too see what worked and what didnt.

Well, two problems, one i have a slight hesitation when first taking off kinda bogs down then goes...

second, brake lamp and gauge cluster stopped working, i checked the fuse and oh dang blown fuse, did the ol' switch aroo and it blew again. (obvously bad circuits or wiring any help i searched but no one had answers)

Btw if you didnt know, its an 89 auto-tragic if that helps.

Any help or suggestions would be great.

the gauge cluster and light issue has been covered, greg posted a fix it in the tech section. the bogging issue, could be a lot of things, do a tune up, check vac lines, any check lights?

the bogging down thing could be a fuel management problem...id try changing the fuel filter and if that doesnt help you may have a fuel pump going bad, mine did similar things when my fuel pump went bad but the **** thats been in your gas tank for the past 15 years doesnt really burn very well in your engine during acceleration and if the fuel filter is clogged its not gonna allow the proper amount of fuel into the motor during an acceleration

I changed the fuel filter too the z32 fuel filter and it cleared up the hesitation, it started too bog down super bad the second time i started it, when i gave it gas it would want too bog down an die, i turned it off and back on and it was fine. No hesitation though

the fuse problem is still scaring me, should i try too re-wire my car? any suggestions

i would check the mass air flow sensor sounds like that could be the problem cause it seems like your air fuel ration is getting messed up get some cleaner and see if that helps

Sock filter on the pump could be clogged. I've changed pump and filters and cleaned everything in the fuel system. When it gets to an eigth of a tank or less ,I get the bogging and hesitation. I took the tank off and cleaned it some but at the bottom of the tank the sock filter still picks up enough rust eventually to clog. Eventually I'll need a new tank, until then I drive with at least half a tank and it's fine. Occasionally I'll have to clean that filter again too(just squirt it with parts cleaner till it's clear again). Could be your problem..you didn't mention fuel level when it happens...
