Im not sure really how to ask the question im trying to ask but i guess what i was wondering is hot fat of a tire or rim can an 06 Z handle, the reason im wondering is because i saw a nismo Z today and it had 245 tires in the front and 265 tires in the back so how big of a tire can the car handle and how big is to big? Also what affect does this have on the car does it help acceleration or corrnering? What does it do?

I believe the new gt comes with 285's in the back, keep in mind it also had wider wheels to hold the extra rubber

Ya i think your right thats my mistake i think i read it wrong. But that being the case how big is to big and given that i did get wider rims where is the line drawn between preformance and just too big or bulky? I really dont think i know anything about this so if anyone has anything to say or recomend on this toppic i would really appriciate it. Also what is to be gained by having fatter tires?

THe nismo's are running 18x9 in the front and 19x 10 in the rear. The benefit of wider tires is better traction and grip in corners especially if your running forced induction.

bigger wheels do good and bad they give you better acceleration but more rotation mass wich means it is harder to turn the tires if you change tire size your speedometer will be off.

Why does it throw off the speedometer is there any way to compensate or fix that or are you just kinda screwed? Is it all worth it in the end to get bigger tires?

You can do what I plan to...

I plan on getting wider rims and tires, but overall the tire diameter will be thesame as stock. I hope this makes sense to you

Yeah it will throw your speedometer off, but it's only very little. bmike818 Are you saying your getting wider tires, but keeping the same size as the stock size. I mean either 17" or 18" tires.

I put 20x8.5 and 20x9.5 on mine and definitely better traction. It also seemed to lessen the road noise. The difference in the spedometer reading is minimal. No tickets yet, but did cry when I scratched it.
