Big Show in FL, Meet NICO's Founder!

Saturday, November 18th will be a big day for the city of Oviedo. The first annual Greater Oviedo Car Show and Fun Day will take place on the grounds of the First Baptist Church of Oviedo from 10am until 6pm. The show will comprise the following:

Car show with trophies and prizes for various categories

Dyno contest with a cash prize for the highest horsepower and torque rating.

Burn out contest with trophies and free tires to the winner.

Chili cook-off with awards

Featured speaker Big Daddy Don Garlits at 5pm

Come see some of Don Garlits race cars

Operation Christmas Child designated drop off point

Z 88.3 Radio to broadcast live

Car cruise down Broadway Street at 6pm

Door prizes and giveaways all day like (Richard Petty Driving Experience, tools, gift certificates, electronics, toys)

Kids games, face painting and blow up activities

Fun for the whole family

Food, drinks and refreshments

Hey Greg any idea on when there will be a meet in Orlando? It would be great if we had a huge Nissan meet...OZOC and the Florida G35 Club usually have quite a few meets...it would be cool if there was 1 giant meet somewhere.

He only has a couple excuses to not come to that meet.... I'd probably take my week vacation off just to drive out and show him in person the pics of what he missed and then drive back home. I like driving

Hey guys, this is Rex Birkmire, aka speeddoctor and founder of NICO. This will be a great Orlando event. All cars are welcome and bikes. I'll have a booth and I'll try to set up a NICO corral.

I live 45 seconds from the church which is my church. We have a ton of gear heads at my church. The big Daddy of all time in drag racing will be a speaker and honored guest. Some of his cars will be there.

Expect a great turnout and great weather.

I'll have 3 cars there: my 96 Nissan R33 GTR vspec Skyline that was just recenlty upgraded in terms of turbos and 1000hp Spearco intercooler. Just waiting for injectors and ECU. Sick sick I'll also have the nicest original 65 Nissan Silvia on the planet. Finally, I'll have a 65 N.S.U. Wankle Spider which is the world's first rotary car. It too, is the nicest original Spider on the planet!

Oviedo is a suburb of Orlando at the Northeast quadrant of Orlando where University of Central Florida is.

Big Daddy, now for those that know their racing history that's pretty cool.

I had a chance to witness a real cool event when in high school. My Dad, my brother and myself attended the Gatornationals in Jacksonville, and my Dad gave Big Daddy some pictures he had taken of Don Garlits street drag racing on the back streets of Columbus, GA. It was amazing to see the look on his face when my Dad handed them to him (he thought it was photos to be autographed).

Wish I could be there .
