We had an internal announcement today that our upper management wants to move some cars off the lots. Anyone that knows of someone wanting to buy a new Nissan or Infiniti, let me know. I can offer a discount on a new car as long as the dealer will participate in a Vehicle Purchase Plan (VPP) sale (it's not a requirement for them to do it). Let's move some cars!

Not to be a smart azz, but is this something new? Do managers not usually want to move new cars off the lot at a great deal? With the current economy, I thought this was a fact a long time ago.......

No, it's not new. But most people I know of don't know that a Nissan employee can get them a discounted price without negotiating with the dealer. It cuts out the dealer profit, so most dealerships don't advertise the deal.

It's common around the plants that most of the public knows that, but in other areas most people don't know it (or the people I talk to don't know it). Maybe I just need better people to talk to?

Strange.. I posted hours ago.. I guess it never showed up.

I would love to get another versa. I just can't afford another $270 payment right now.

Was there ever a time that "upper management" did NOT want to move cars off the lot? I mean, isn't that the point of selling cars?

I thought you can only do a VPP once a year and for only family.

Friends, family and employees are eligible. Many members of our Z car club have used the program through members who work at Nissan here at the Smyrna plant or corporate HQ. We used it to buy our Versa in 1/08.

would you have any clue as to why my monthly car payment dropped from $405 to $327?

Do you pay above the minimum? I pay $300 per month but my minimum is $270. One time CapitalOne said I had no payment due.

I pay the minimum through NMAC, which is $299 a month at 1.9% APR for 60 Months.

Exact same thing happened to me, my statement always says my payment isn't due until next month.

Can't wait to get this paid off

I am familiar with the Vehicle Purchase Plan. Those interested in buying a car should look into this as an option... just know that if you are good at negotiating, you can usually get a price that is lower than VPP (especially now).

If you are not good or comfortable with negotiating a deal, VPP is a very pleasant, hassle-free way to buy a new car.
