I have a project 1991 240 that was sitting for about 3 years in the back of a car lot after running hot for a long time.

After i finally fixed getting fuel to the engine(a little elbow grease on the gastank, new fuel pump, and a set of sparkplugs) it will finally start. Whenever I start it and it is around 1 rpm, the car will violently shake and the rpm will fall and almost, if it doesnt, turn off. Whenever It manages to get away from 1 rpm, the car will run fine, but I can't have it dieing in the middle of the street. Lets say im driving fine, but then I stop at a redlight. When I try to go again, it will sputter and/or die! Please, anyone know what to do?

Changed the fuel filter? I'm guessing you drained out all of the old gas and put all new in? Maybe the fuel injectors need to be cleaned. Air filter? Change the oil?

Did you drain the fuel? Sounds like bad gas/HG leak--since it was running hot
