Ok, so i just finished installing a GT25R a/r .86, tubular manifold, and split dump pipe. First thing i noticed when i first started it up was its a lot louder and there was a noticeable exhaust leak. Well i fixed that and it sounded good to me. When i first drove it, it didnt pull at all. The HKS actuator i put on is supposed to be at 11psi correct? well the boost gauge never goes above 7 and that is a spike. It doesnt even feel like a turbo car at all. Pulls like a N/A car does. and doesnt pull all that good even then. I thought maybe the wastegate is opening too soon, so i put my MBC on it and set it to about 12psi, or where 12 was on the stock turbo. I made one mad dash to see if that took care of it, but it still barely pulled which lead me to believe maybe not enough fuel for the air. Well then I turned around to head back to the house and it was spitting and sputtering and wouldnt go above 2k rpms. Barely got it to 2k at that. I also noticed black smoke coming from the exhaust. Black smoke is usually a sign of running rich but the car doesnt run like that. It is running exactly like it did when my last fuel pump burnt out and i had to replace it with a walbro. Is my brand new walbro going out on me or is it not getting enough air from the turbo from a boost leak or something and getting flooded and bogging from to much fuel? Please help ASAP!!!

Boost leak or a dying MAF.

Unplug the MAF and see if it runs smoother.

Im gonna check those things in the morning, but you dont think it has anything to do with the fuel system? Or the unplugged o2 sensor? Thanks for the help by the way!

02 - No

Fuel System is possible but unlikely. This sounds almost exactly like a MAF issue.

Ok, so it turned out to be a huge rip in one of my connectors. I replaced it and managed to drive several miles before i heard the new, apparently not tightened down enough connector pop off and it went back to boost leak. I recoupled it this time and tightened it as much as possible, but it is back to the same thing. The car will not rev very high which leads me to believe MAFs is about shot. I tried unplugging it and not much change. I even tried removing the hot pipe and putting the MAFS directly to the hot side of the I/C as to bypass the turbo. This didnt change much. I have a walbro fuel pump which i have a feeling has been bad from the start, as I was under the impression that they were near silent and I can easily hear mine. But at this point i can hear it wind up with power then wind down like its not getting a steady stream of power. Any way to test the MAFS and/or fuel pump to see if they work or not? What else could cause this. I have checked and rechecked all my connection for a boost leak, and i cant find one myself. Any suggestions?
