alright so today I was driving around for about 3 hours in the morning than i stopped for about 20 to help me friend and when i came back the car wouldnt start, didnt even make a click. So my friend jumped it, it worked but took a bit. then i drove home and sat around for awhile. went back to check my car 1 hour later and nothing wouldnt start. So i thought maybe my battery was dead. went to part source and they said it was low, but would still give a good charge. Now im wondering, what can I do. Its pretty cold out today about -3 degrees celius.

oh yah, about 5 days ago i put in some fuel system cleaner. not sure but that might be part of the prolem.

any help is appreciated thanks

Couldn't tell if you said this, but what happens when you turn the key? Any clicks, is it trying to turn over? Do the lights and everything come on?

Could be your starter, how many miles are on the car?

if its an mt, and everything else works, it may be the clutch switch.

there is a little rubber pad on the pedal that actually touches the clutch switch. mine froze and broke one night, causing the clutch pedal not to hit the switch. thankfully i realized what happened.

Try hitting the gas tank when the car doesn't start, hit it somewhat hard and then try to turn it on, if it turns on after this, it might be your fuel pump.....

Well it may be the starter thats what i thought there are 172 000 KILOMETERS on it.

Hmm clutch switch, not sure what that is. . . can you send me a picture maybe, not sure how that breaking would result in my car not starting.

and hitting the gas tank? how will that help get the gas into the engine lol, But yah it may be that as well.

OK, Check the 75 AMP fuse under the hood. Checking the one under the good might not do you any good

The clutch safety switch would be the easiest for you to check. Just get around down there with a flashlight, and push the clutch pedal all the way down and see where it hits when its depressed.

Otherwise, could be your starter, or starter relay. I just pulled mine (starter) and took it to Autozone to test. If you don't want to do that just yet, you could examine/replace the relay which on the S13, correct me if I'm wrong, is on the passenger side, near the headlights/fusebox, a big blue plug?????

Good luck.

Just seeing the safety switch push in doesn't mean its working. I ran into one on mine that looked fine, but once I put an ohm meter on it figured out it was bad. And for your knowledge the clutch safety switch is a switch that won't allow the motor to start or even turn over without the clutch pushed in. That way you don't try starting the car in gear and hitting something or runnin over somebody. I almost got squished once because of a disabled one.

Lol! it won't help get gas to the engine. Like you said the engine won't start right? you can turn it on but then after a few minutes it won't start back on right? Hitting the gas tank will make the gas pump work just in case its stuck or something, trust me it works. if the engine starts back on after you hit it a couple of times, the pump is the problem.

It may sound weird or something but it could be ignition switch. Yes, the IGNITION SWITCH. There is a big posibility, no joke.
