I will be running S15 480cc Injectors and a Z32 MAF. I want to use the JWT ECU but the closest program they have is a 550cc / Z32 MAF setup. Can I use my SAFC to adjust the diffrence of the cc size - 13%? It seems like it would work as long as I don't max out the duty cycle of the injectors.

Who else offers rom tunes for s13 KA24DE?

I emailed Enthalpy but from his post on other boards he seems way to busy to worry about my ECU.

Enthalpy, JWT, anyone else will not be able to write a custom program for an odd-sized injector that they haven't had experience with.Asking if a 550cc program can control a 440cc injector is retarded. It's like asking if a 5" peg will fit in a 3" hole. You'll need an AFC, and then to have your car towed to a dyno and tuned.. turning your ecu into a $1100 adventure. Or, you can just buy the right injectors.-Jeff

I already own everything but the JWT ECU so it will not be costing me that more to make use of what I have. I will at some point upgrade the injectors again to the appropriate size, I just want to see if basic drivablity could be achived with the 480cc injectors.

People tune SR20 370cc injectors on the stock KA program stock tuned to run 270cc injectors with a SAFC why couldn't I tune 480cc injectors to run a ECU that is set up for 550cc injectors.

Somebody get Jeff some decaf before he takes a swing at me for this post!

Call XATRacing in Tampa. They do ROM/Dyno tunes.

I had no animocity in my first post. However, your lack of reading comprehension has astounded me.Let's try this again.YOU WILL RUN LEAN AND BLOW YOUR MOTOR! Was that clear enough? If the ecu says you need 75% fuel, expecting 412.5cc to come out of the injector, but 330cc come out.. you blow up. So, as I just said. You will need a JWT ecu $600. You will need an AFC $250. You will need 1 hour of dyno tuning $125. This will cost you $900. If you have the AFC, you can do it, just schedule some dyno time and a tow truck to get you there.-JeffPS: I don't need decaf. I need people to understand what I write so I don't have to do it twice.

This is only for SR motors. Only Enthalpy can custom tune a KA, but does so on XATs dyno.-Jeff

i assume you want a tunned ecu for timing control? the safc can handle the injectors by itself.

can u get a 370cc/z32maf program by jwt and then trim down the injectors? i dont see why witha 550 program that you could just go on the safc and add fuel. yes u would need a dyno or a wideband. for any turbo car i think the investment of a wideband is the best you can make. tune on the street any time

If the ECU is set to run 75% duty cycle on 550 injectors and you increase the cycle to 88% (via SAFC which I already have and am using) because you have 480 injectors I think you will produce the same amount of fuel in each cylinder. Since the 480's are 13% smaller I am speculating that you would want to at the 13% to the duty cycle.

Given this scenario how would I run lean? The 480's are working harder but they aren't maxed at 100% duty cycle.

FYI: XAT does tune KA ECU's and they agree with the above statement which was the basis for my original question.

Kr0n1k, thanks for being helpful and somehow managing to not be condescending.

Yes I want the ECU for timing control you are correct. Have you heard anthing about the AEM or the PAK widebands? They seem to be the cheapest standalone's from rep companys.

You can send your injectors in to JWT to get flowbenched. Some injectors flow more than their advertised rates. It's a common process for them to re-construct the MAF and fuel tables so don't worry about it. Just make sure you have patience because they are busy.

he's talking about standalone wideband units, as in one complete unit that doesnt require another output device to display its reading. ka24det-power, browse through the aem forums, theres a lot of people using aem's wb there: http://forum.aempower.com/bbs/index.php great product imo.

btw, you can drive to a dyno on a basemap; you shouldnt be so far off that the ecu couldn't compensate as long as you keep it in closed loop.

Yes that is exactly what I ment a standalone wb.

I got a hold of Enthalpy and he gave me a fair deal on a rom tune for a car I am working on.
