Well, we got a torque wrench from my friends shop today so that we could re torque the cam tower bolts because we put on rocker arm stoppers last night. Well, it looks like we overtightened one of the bolts on the exhaust side, and it broke. S H I T. It looks like it only broke into two pieces and the bolt flanged itself, so we were able to unscrew the bottom part of the bolt, but we can't get it all of the way out without a magnet or a reverse drill.

Does anyone know if we can use USDM FWD SR20DE cam tower bolts to replace it? I H8? Daunttless? Anyone?

Now question 2. Is there going to be any damage to the thread? I'm really not interested in buying another cylinder head....:eyecrazy

You will need to find reverse drill bits aka left hand drill bits. Use a small but decent size drill to catch the nub of the remaining bolt in the hole. When the drill bit catches, it will drive the bolt all the way out. As for damage, it depends how much you torqued it. If you didn't go WAY beyond the torque limit, and you drill the bolt out straight with no probs, basically you will be fine. If any damage, it will probably be minor damage and you can chase the threads out with a chaser. If you over torqued it good, then you may have weakened all the threads, and in worst case scenario, you will need new head or thread repair kit and hope the repair kit holds(wouldnt trust it on vital engine parts).

We torqued it to somewhere in the neighborhood of 12-16 lbs, so I'm hoping that isn't too much over.

No, that is not enough to ruin the threads if its only 12-16lbs. You just happened to have a bad bolt I guess. Just reverse drill it out and you should be set.
