i wanna go get coilovers but i dont really wanna spend $1200 so i was thinking i would get new springs and shocks...

but i wanna go pretty low probably like 2 full inch drop all around but what kind of shocks could handle this drop? i am probably gonna go with megan or skunk 2 s13 springs ( cause they go the lowest) but i dont know what shocks would work...

how will this setup ride? is it worth it? i plan to drift a little and mostly time attack or circuit.

Honestly, it'll probably ride like utter crap. Most springs that go that low are too soft, so chances are you'll be hitting the bumpstops constantly. The 240SX has pretty limited suspension travel as it is, and reducing that so much will not only wear out pretty much any off the shelf shock you can buy but it will effect performance.

I guess the shocks that'll survive the longest would be Koni or KYB AGX. Either way, the limited travel will cause their premature death. Unfortunately, it's not easy to get short stroke shocks here in the US. I think someone on here got KYB Buzz Specs from Ebay, but they sure ain't cheap.

If it were me, I wouldn't go lower than 1 1/2". If you really want to go lower, you can either get some KYB AGX and hope they last or get some cheap KYB GR2 and just treat them as disposable. Maybe they'll last long enough for you to get your coilovers.

Only smart way to accomplish a 2" drop well with springs and shocks is with custom length koni's and ground control sleeveovers.

BadMojo and Naed are right. As it is the 240sx does not take excessive drops very well. Either save up for coilovers or go w/ Koni's.

I did a lot of search on the same issue and what I found was...If the drop is so important to you, get the coilovers. If not, you should settle with 1.5" drop otherwise your shock will blow sooner, ride like crap and scrape just about everything.

If you want coilovers look at Megan, K-Sport, D-2, Tein Basic, KTS...etc.Springs... Tein S. Tech, Sportline, Pro Kit, RS*R, Tanabe...etc. Make sure to search about difference between linear and progressive, average drops and pick what you need.Shocks... Koni, KYB AGX or KYB GR-2. Good luck!
