Okay I have a 1989 240sx coupe, body is in real good condition LOOKS wise, but the frame is looking pretty beat and has holes, and the body is rusty underneath its starting to look like a problem soon.

Big thing here is I bought a Redtop clip for it, and have it already swapped it in and have it running. It also has Tein basic's on it, Tein tie rod ends, Walbro 255, and RSR downpipe and exhaust.

But here is the dilemma. My friend has a 1995 s14 SE that he bought at a police auction, but has found out that after that the engine is blown and the auto trannny too. This car, other than some minor cosmetic problems such as scratches, crap hood and fender (i'm going to put an s15 front on anyways) has a solid, unrusted frame, and everything else in it working.

He is offfering it to me for $750. I'm going to keep my swap and I think I'm going to accept if you guys can possibly help me on some questions please?

#1 how much more different, if any is it to swap a redtop into a 95' s14 chassis and how different is the wiring also if it is at all?

#2 do you think its a wise decision even though i'm not going to be able to use my suspension and exhaust, but can keep the downpipe?

#3 I might be dumb, but I can't really find any info on swapping a redtop into an s14.

please help and give me any suggestions or info!!

literally hardly eny difference at allcheck on srswap.com or heavythrottle.com (same place) they give good info

a lot of people opt for the S13 engines b/c of the fact tis cheaper than the S14 notchtop, and you can still ge the t-28 turbo and lines for a good price...onyl thing you cant get is the VVT( i think it is)

heres what i think you should do...buy the s14 buy the sr20 in that. put a running ka in the s13 then sell the s13 and have money for your s14.

Something you didn't mention that you should be concerned about: 5spd swap. I'm assuming that your S13 w/ swapped motor is a 5spd. The S14 is a awesome deal but if you were to forgo the auto, you will have to find S14 manual pedals/parts (ecu not an issue since your swap came with one I assume). If you plan to keep the auto in the S14, the bellhousing will not mate up to your SR, not to mention the ECU.

Yeah that's another thing. My s13 was an auto too and I swapped it over to the sr's 5 speed, is that any different wiring wise to? Or should I not really be that concerned cause the swap is going to be pretty much the same or what? I just feel lost cause I had all that time into the coupe and I keep thinkng it's going to be different...
